I've heard that the new Vampire card set [Jyhad II? : )] will have new rules to make the games go faster. Apparently the vampires will bleed for half their controling cost... for example; Wynn of Clan Gangrel will bleed for 5??!?!?! This may be good for the quick game so that you can bring out the big guns and obliterate your opponents but I may want to leave the 'old' rules in for a big game. With five players or more; the games get downright exciting... the politics, the intrigue, the trechery! Ryan rlun...@commonlink.com

Couldn't agree with you more, those people who want a fast game should go play magic.

These new rules are optional for the dummies who could'nt understand the first release. How about Lucian with a Pulse! (8 Bleed) and Lost in Crowds for the remainder of the game. Heck, how about Conditioning for 11. One of those and the game is almost won for Lucian's Master

No thanks i like to watch my prey and predator squirm as i slowly kill them it's more fun and challanging.

The V:TES will contain simpler, introductory rules that are basically designed to ease new players into the game. One of the major complaints from non-players about Jyhad was the daunting task of picking up the strategies of a multi-player game *and* learning the rules of actually playing Jyhad. So, the V:TES rules try to help ease players into the actual rules, allowing them to concentrate more on getting used to group play. You can then start plugging in various expanded rules, eventually fleshing out the rules to be roughly equivalent to Jyhad. (The Duelist has, however, had an article or two on Jyhad house rules, which have included rules designed to speed up the game. These are intended more as an interesting twist to try every so often than as any kind of "fix" to the game.) [ quoted text not captured ] Yep, that would suck. And then there's Basilia with an automatic 5 aggravated hand damage. OUCH! --------- Paul Schaaf sch...@u.washington.edu

Ya know, I took a look on my game shelf today. I have "Mystic Wood" and "Magic Realm" both fantasy games by Avalon Hill. MW has about 4 pages of rules and MR has about 4 years worth of rules. There's a reward that comes from playing a full-blown 16 player game of Magic Realm that never comes from playing Mystic Wood. I'm glad AH realized that they could release two similar products that appeal to two different crowds, have totally dissimilar styles of play, and not have to destroy the complex game because the players of the simpler game didn't want to take the time to learn it. Too bad WotC couldn't see past the gluttony of spending associated with Magic. I won't ever spend money again on any WotC product, period. Ray Where am I and what am I doing in this handbasket?

P.S. Yeah can you believe that, I still find people who say they would like to learn Jyhad but find the rules to complicated. Then i know i would rather not play with anyone that dumb. If a person can read they can play Jyhad.
