Theory scenario: Lucian is in combat with a Ravnos with inferior Chimerstry. The Ravnos acted so declares strikes first, declaring her strike to be Blessing of Durga Syn targeting the ivory bow on Lucian. Can Lucian then declare to use his special on the ivory bow he posess and if so, where will the ivory bow end up at strike resolution? =) Bonus question: Can you target a weapon with a "Steal equipment as a strike"-effect even if you are not in range of it (aka the range is at long) just to cycle the card? Lucian Clan: Malkavian (group 1) Capacity: 10 Disciplines: AUS DOM OBF cel tha Camarilla Malkavian Justicar: Lucian may steal equipment as a strike. Blessing of Durga Syn Type: Combat Requires: Chimerstry Cost: 2 blood [chi] Strike: steal equipment. [CHI] Strike: steal equipment with First Strike.

> No. He cannot steal a Bow he has. Ok, so for the sake of completeness: He cannot target a piece of equipment he has on him, correct? Entirely off topic but a new question none the less: Can you target a retainer you have on one of your vampires? A scenario: Your Tremere are in combat with another vampire, but the opposing vampire has no blood for your Theft of Vitae to steal so you want to snatch them from your own Raven Spy instead. Is your own retainer a legal target for stuff like this? I was thinking yes, due to the reminder text on Charnas the imp. Charnas the Imp Type: Retainer Requires: Tremere Cost: 1 blood Unique demon with 1 life. Put Charnas on any minion (employing Charnas is a +1 stealth (D) action if that minion is controlled by another Methuselah). The minion with this retainer takes 1 damage during his or her untap phase. Charnas is immune to damage from that minion. If the minion is burned, his or her controlling Methuselah can put Charnas on any minion.

No. Charnas is protected from Cryptic Mission. All retainers are protected from being the victim of their employer's strikes in combat. Rulebook, 6.4.7 6.4.7. Retainers and Combat "an attacker can choose to target one of the opposing minion's retainers with a strike rather than striking at the opposing minion. "Strike: Steal Equipment" has a specific meaning, given in the rules [6.4.5] "an equipment card of the opposing minion". > Entirely off topic but a new question none the less: Can you target a > retainer you have on one of your vampires? "An attacker can choose to target one of the opposing minion's retainers with a strike" [6.4.7]
