I would like to ask some questions of you,
yes you there in the jam trousers oh errrm no. aaahh
Ok there are lots of things confusing me about V:tes/Jyhad that I can't
figure out, and was hoping that you all might want to give me a hand since
you all seem to know every strange ruling and correction ever made by
anyone in the world ever.....
right here goes
#Talbots chainsaw#
I'm confused a little (well maybe a lot but anyway) by the wording on
this card it says
"During your untap phase, if the bearer is ready, you must
inflict 3 damage on 1 ready minion you control, which may be
the bearer itself."
Does that mean if the bearer is ready at the start of or after the untap
phase ? and by ready it means untapped and controlled right ?
#Sabbat#
I can't figure out a reason why sabbat vampire would be allowed to vote
in anything that evolves camarilla vampire so are sabbat allowed to vote
when say someone wants to become a prince of somewhere ?
Also (ooooh I must be sounding really stooooopid by now) if someone
plays a card that affects a specific clan say Gangrel, would this affect
the Gangrel antitribue also ?
#Inner Circle using Justicar/Prince cards#
Can a IC member us a car that say can only be played by a ready
justicar or prince ? I would have thought so as when most of these cards
were printed there was no IC vampires and it seams strange that they
shouldn't be allowed to do what ever they like after all who's going
to argue with them.
#Ready means ?#
Ready means controlled and untapped doesn't it ?
#Getting own title again#
If Javier Montoya who is the Prince of Barcelona was to call a vote of
Praxis Seizure: Barcelona, and was successful would this increase his
capacity by 1 as stated on the card, even thought he was already the
prince ? If so it seams a little twisted.
#Protracted investment and things#
On the Protracted Investment card it says
"You may use a master phase action to move 1 blood from
this card to your blood pool."
Does this mean that instead of playing a master card you move 1 blood
or does it mean during your master phase ?
Well that's my big list of things I should probably know already
I hope you lot have answers to the questions as i probably have many more that
I dont remember at the moment :O)
Thanks in advance
Piers

"During" means at any point in the phase.
The untap phase is special in that the first thing that ever happens
in that phase is: you untap all of your cards. (If something needs
to check for being tapped at the beginning of your turn, it will say
"beginning of your turn" or "beginning of your untap phase" not "during
your untap phase").
"Ready" means "controlled and not in Torpor" - it has nothing to do
with being tapped.
So, (during your untap phase) if the bearer is not in torpor, then
(during your untap phase) one of your ready minions takes three damage.

The rules are simpler that way, and it's just a card game.

No. This is explained in the "Brotherhood Among the Sabbat" section of
the Sabbat rules sheet.

Since IC members are neither Princes nor Justicars, they cannot use cards
that can only be used by Princes of Justicars.

"ready" means "controlled and not in Torpor".

Yes. Twisted or no, it is right there in the card text.

instead of.
"Master Phase Actions" are new in VtES (Jyhad didn;t have them).
You get only one Master Phase Action during your master phase.
You can use this action to play a master card. Some cards (like
the investments) allow you to spend this action doing other things.

Well, no. The strict definition of ready is controlled and not in torpor.
Thus, your first question is pointless because there's no way someone can
become ready during the untap phase.

Yes. The Sabbat are allowed to vote in anything unless it's a Closed
Session. Just pretend this is a completely different universe from the
RPG and nothing applies (you know, like Jurassic Park the book, Jurassic
Park the movie and the Lost World).

Nope. The Gangrel antitribu are a separate clan altogether, and the card
played would have to state Gangrel antitribu.

I believe they made errata on most of the cards that say Justicar/Prince.
Check the rulings list, it was posted just a while ago and should still be
around.
It's easy to argue with the IC. All you need is a healthy dose of
deathwishes.

Yes. He loses his original title as Prince of Barcelona and then gains
the title Prince of Barcelona and the effect granted by the Praxis
Seizure. (Much scarier with Paris and Francois....)

The concept of MPAs didn't show up until V:TES (possibly not even then,
I'm not sure). Basically, during your master phase you get a certain
number (normally one) of master phase actions. Each action can be used to
play a master card or for any other effect allowed. Anything that says it
gives you the ability to play an extra master card now gives an extra
master phase action during the master phase.
So, instead of playing a master, you would take one blood from the
Protracted.

My thoughts of the V:TES game are not so much that the Blood Pool
represents "Blood", instead it represents your "Influence" in the game
world. So if I'm hunting for an assault rifle I don't cut my wrist and
wallah! There's an A. Rifle.. Noo, I spend 4 pool to pull strings at
the local marine base to get past the security, have a phony permit
made, and spend some bribe money to keep things quiet. Takes quite a
bit of influence.
Funny how V:TES is more of a mafia game in my head.
