Does Undead Persistence work in the same way as a trap, regarding defining when the 3 rounds without cards have been played, i.e. has the 3 rounds got to be in sequence? And if the vampire is given more damage later in the combat, will the Undead Persistence prevent the torpor then too? Example: March Halcyon has zero blood, she's in combat with Leandro (11 blood). March plays trap, and when Leandro strikes her for one damage she plays Undead Persistence. The two next rounds no cards are played, the third March plays a card, for example a skin of rock. Then two more round are played with no cards followed by a card played in the next round, repeated until Leandro is torporized. Correct or not? Would March be burned the second round if she was i combat with Basilia instead, 1 aggrevated damage? Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/

It will not prevent the vampire from being burned by aggravated damage though. If a vampire that has played Undead Persistence takes one point of aggravated damage and is unable to prevent the damage, and has no blood to prevent destruction, will burn. > Example: March Halcyon has zero blood, she's in combat with Leandro > (11 blood). Yes. The example you give is correct, but only because of the Trap. Undead Persistence only gives you one press. > Would March be burned the second round if she was i combat with > Basilia instead, 1 aggrevated damage? Yes, if she didn't have the Skin of Rock to play. Carpe Noctem. Lasombra http://lasombra.tripod.com http://legbiter.tripod.com http://vekn_clans.tripod.com [ quoted text not captured ]

My antagonist keeps giving me (and you) a hard time about this sentence: "If 3 rounds of combat pass with no cards played, combat ends." English is not my native language, but it seems to me that if three rounds are played without cards played, no matter if in sequence or not, combat ends. If I'm wrong on this, feel free to give me a lecture explaining that sentence! ;o) And I also wonder why this text is included on this card anyway... How often you going to be able to play three rounds without any cards played (yeah, yeah I guess you vould have a Hawg each plus mobconnections, but in reality) without having a trap, and in that case the three rounds-limit are already ruled by the trap card. Undead Persistence [Jyhad, V:TES, Sabbat, SW] Cardtype: Combat Discipline: Fortitude Only usable when this vampire should go into torpor. This vampire gets an optional press and will not go to torpor until combat ends (although he or she is still considered wounded and can be burned as normal). If 3 rounds of combat pass with no cards played, combat ends. This vampire is sent into torpor after combat. (S) Prevent 2 damage. [ quoted text not captured ]

Similarly "If 15 seconds pass with no votes cast, then the referendum ends and the results are tallied" would imply that the 15 seconds need to be consecutive. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) VTES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc.
