What can I do with a Toreador Deck? I can have alot of Intercepts but how do I kill your prey? Anyone got an exemple of a good Toreador Deck? Thanks, Martin.

Lots of additional strikes = lots of damage. Check out cards like Acrobatics (I dodge your strike, so I don't take damage, and I hit you); Blur (I strike several times), and Sideslip. Also, if you acquire a Resplendent Protector, it's like having a free Flak Jacket. Don't underestimate the power of Intercepts either. That stops the vote deck from depleting you with Kine Resources Contested; the Malkavian deck from sneaking in with increased stealth and bleeding you for extra with Dominate. If you don't feel like fighting, you needn't be bled in the first place; Telepathic Misdirection and Telepathic Counter will stop most of the bleeds, and won't even tap your minions. Toreadors can be good bleeders, as well. They have Presence, which means you can use Legal Manipulations, Social Charm, etc.; Adrianne has +1 bleed, and Pulse of the Canaille will increase one of your vampires' bleeds to 3. PotC is a gamble, though; make sure the minion you play it on can stay alive long enough to bleed your prey a few times. Also, I've been known to throw Anson in a non-Toreador deck just to be able to play two master cards and use his two votes. You've got a better chance playing an all-Toreador deck than with many of the other clans. That's one of the slight imbalances of this game, IMHO. - Neil -- nwbe...@unix.amherst.edu, lentus in umbra | nudus ara, sere nudus... in omnibus requiem quaesivi, et nusquam inveni nisi in angulo cum libro

Whoops: now that I look at the card, I see you're right. I was thinking it was equivalent to Deflection. What do you think about my larger point, that the probable success of an all-Toreador deck makes them slightly unbalanced? - Neil "Sympathy for the Nosferatu" B. [ quoted text not captured ]

Aching beauty is a strong point for the Toreador, If you put plenty in your deck it gets real nasty, real fast. I think two Toreador actually have the protean discipline, and I use them in my intercept and send them to torpor deck. The Art Museum is a nice bonus as well. But for bleeding your opponent stick to aching beauty, no one will want to block you (especially if you throw on a Camarilla Exemp., which was done in a game I played in last week).

Is it true that intercept (on its own) tends to get over-rated in groups playing under stingent card limits, because the acting minion in general cannot do anything against the intercepting minion? (Intercept does next to _nothing_ against some card-based strikes combat decks, which are infeasible under card limits.) -- "Live Life with Heart." Alan Kwan kw...@cs.cornell.edu

Voting is pretty straight foreward, lots of KRC, Conservitive Aggitation, etc., Bleeding uses Pulse of the Cannille and the presence bleed cards. Aching beauty and lots of majesty help with both. I generally don't put many intercept cards in, usually relying on bleed reduction or bouncing, depends on who I'm playing though.... It's basically a votes and guns deck. I use praxis seisure to get votes and princes. For life you then have various nice combos: 5th tradition and minion tap consenguineous boom voter captivation regaining the upper hand This can be used to get lots of life. Use the life to equip weapons. .44 and bastard swords are nice and cheap. Sub-machine and flame-thrower is a little expensive but usually worth it. Using Celerity with the guns and various ammo cards makes it a nasty combat deck. Auspect allows me to block most actions. For the bleed I use aching beauty, destructive votes, legal manipulations and the simple fear that I can waist you ass with my guns. I just tried it out yesterday and I came in first one game and second place the second. I still need to refine it but it works. -Yousef

Well, I'm no oracle on this, but intercept becomes markedly more common as card limits get more stringent (that's from experience). I attribute it to the fact that other defenses get more difficult as the card limits get tougher, but you're right that it also becomes harder to beat up an intercept deck. Use Aching Beauty and Archon to keep from being blocked while equipping. .44 Magnums are great. .44 + Blur (sup.)=6 damage. You should be able to block just about everything. Give a few people Sport Bikes (ecspecially Anneke) for permanent intercept. Andreas-Bard of Crete and KRCG News Radio are handy also. >Toreadors can be good bleeders, as well. Another nice aspect of the Toreador bleed is putting Aching Beauty and Archon on the same vampire. Bleed with Social or Legal, when they block it costs them 2 pool anyway. Then you can also use Majesty to strike:combat ends and do it again. >- Neil You should also have enough political power to pass a few Con. Boon's. I also use both Powerbase's in my Toreador deck, and Short Term/Protracted Investments. Protracted's are okay with Anson, because you can get two blood from it on the same turn. My Toreador is based on combat, and turns into a blood factory. Con. Boons, Powerbases, Blood Dolls, Investments... Chris rho...@medicine.wustl.edu
