If a minion has Seeds of Corruption on it and doesn't have enouh blood to spend the extra cost for an action attempt, I guess this means it cannot attempt the action? (ex: Anneke has 1 blood and a superior Seeds on her. May she attempt to hunt?) And what happens to such a minion with no blood. It may not do anything, including hunt, and may only block, is that right? Mathieu

Seeds doesn't increase the cost of the action. But he will have to burn a blood (or two or three) when the action is attempted. If he doesn't have enough blood to pay for the action when it eventually resolves successfully, then the action fizzles instead, as usual. > (ex: Anneke has 1 blood and a superior Seeds on her. He will burn a blood when the attempt is made (no effect, since he is empty), and he will gain a blood if the action is successful (standard hunting rules). -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. If the vampire does not have two blood, he burns as much as possible in compliance, leaving him with zero blood. Now the action begins to resolve. After blocking is dealt with, and it is determined that nobody blocks the action, the cost of the action must be paid. In this case, it is hunting, which costs 0 blood. So the minion pays the cost of the action (0), and then gains a blood for the result of a successful hunt action. This would be the same if the minion attempted to Bum's Rush another minion (except, of course, the result would be a combat instead of gaining one blood from the bank). HOWEVER, if the minion had instead attempted to play a Govern the Unaligned, the action would fizzle, since the minion would have to burn its blood, and THEN attempt to pay for the action, which it would no longer be able to do. But the cost of the action itself is never paid until the action is successful (ie. nobody blocks it). -- Derek Jack-Booted Thug of Atlanta

The cost of the "hunt" action is zero, which any vampire can pay. Since he can pay for the action (even after burning - not paying - blood for the Seeds), the action resolves successfully when not blocked. The Seeds makes the vampire burn blood when he attempts an action. It does *not* increase the cost of the action. If a vampire can pay the cost of an action, ha can attempt the action. If between then time he begins the action and the action is able to be successfully resolves (is not blocked), the acting vampire can no longer pay the cost of the action (because he lost blood to Seeds, or had to pay for a few action modifiers along the way or whatever), then the action will fizzle. In the case of the hunt, however, the vampire can still pay the cost of the action (none), so the action doesn't fizzle. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) VTES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. Seeds of Corruption simply puts this effect on a vampire, effectively: "When this vampire attempts an action, they burn (However Much) blood." It's not a cost, it's just something they do. If they cannot do it, *shrug*. Just carry on. Costs of *actions* are only paid when they are successful, so this is not a cost. -- James Coupe | PGP Key 0x5D623D5D | ja...@zephyr.org.uk (New e-mail) "Who'd have ever predicted the moment would come when I find myself grateful they've kept women dumb?
