Better to start off with what you need for the Shock Troops, rather than wait for the right guys. Moncada might be nice since he can play deflections and prevent the need for lots of WWEF cards. Lazvernius isn't a Lasombra of course but he might be ok here with both DOM and POT. The AB/C will be enough for the Shock Troops, plus you can use the DOM to deflect any bleeds forward. Timing and hand-jam seem like they might be a severe crimp in this deck's performance. > Library: (89 cards) > Master (30 cards) > 1 Barrens, The > 3 Blood Doll > 2 Heidelburg Castle, Germany Hmm... to prevent the need for the Shocked Troopers to hunt as they are created? I'm not sure this is legal. The ST card says they *must* hunt the turn they are created, regardless of the amount of blood on them (LSJ?). I'm not sure if that is why you included this but it might be a consideration so I'll mention it anyway. > 1 Minion Tap > 1 Parthenon, The > 1 Political Hunting Ground I doubt you'll get blocked while hunting with weenie POT guys... may be unnecessary. > 11 Potence > 2 Power Structure Makes for a pretty solid vote defense once the lil' ones start coming out, plus you obviously already have at least 2 votes on the table. It's not however *required*. You'll have a few votes from minions already--why not just rush any voters that irk you? > 6 Shock Troops I'd give this deck as many STs as you include Potence cards. Maybe 8 of each? > 1 Storage Annex I have a feeling this card will be *very* important to you. Maybe more... > 1 Sudden Reversal Haven Uncovereds work with the weenie potence... maybe a few of those? Masters are tight in this deck though... > Minion (59 cards) > 3 Ambush > 1 Ancient Influence > 1 Blood Feast > 4 Bum's Rush With little rushers and an AB/C, I think War Party is preferrable to transient rush cards. > 1 Cardinal Benediction > 1 Crusade: Miami > 1 Crusade: Philadelphia You should remove most of the votes and just concentrate on the rushes. Forward offense should be deflections and maybe some big DOM bleeds with the AB/C. Maybe a Rumors of Gehenna to give you more Masters? You could always share it with another vote deck. > 3 Deflection Many, many more... with enough WWEFs to send them on their merry way. > 7 Disarm Combine this with Leather Jacket... Nice, simple, deadly. > 2 Disputed Territory I don't think you need this. > 2 Eyes of the Night To block what? You'll have lots of votes, you'll be able to rush any one who bothers you and bleeds can be deflected. > 2 Govern the Unaligned Maybe a few more for some forward motion? > 3 Graverobbing > 3 Immortal Grapple With lots of 'lil ones' I don't think you even need IGs. They can waste their Majesty cards, but you'll just be rushing them with three other guys. > 9 Leather Jacket > 2 Pier 13, Port of Baltimore Doesn't work. The LJs will be going to the Troopers most of the time and they can't afford to spend blood on this. > 4 Shadow Play > 3 Thrown Gate More! > 3 Undead Strength More! > 3 Wake with Evening's Freshness More! > 1 War Party Actually, this card might be a nice substitute for Haven Uncovered considering you will have an Archbishop/Cardinal already. Maybe more of these? Try this out! Seems interesting. I'd like to see a deck do something with Shock Troops. I have one or two to contribute to the cause if needed :)

Card slots, I'm afraid. I'll see... War party is a good maybe card, but it bothers me that the big vampire (and face it, I'll only have 1 or 2 out for most of the game) will have to risk putting one on a vampire. Less risk if they just rush. >> 3 Deflection > >Many, many more... with enough WWEFs to send them on their merry way. No, due to card slots. >> 2 Disputed Territory > >I don't think you need this. I'll see... The more cards needed for the combo, the more Storage Annex you need... or so it seems to me lately. A local player here plays with at least three Storage Annex in almost every deck he plays. > War party is a good maybe card, but it bothers me that the big vampire (and > face it, I'll only have 1 or 2 out for most of the game) will have to risk > putting one on a vampire. Less risk if they just rush. Well, Shock Troops doesn't require an action, so I figure you could use the AB/C actions on something like this. If card slots are a problem, as they do appear to be, then War Party gives you more rush for the buck. Havens would work too but Masters seem tight here. > >> 2 Pier 13, Port of Baltimore > > > >Doesn't work. I misunderstood the combo. > >> 3 Thrown Gate > > > >More! > > Maybe... Well, if you are blocked when the Troopers hunt, you can at least maneuver--it might save their ass from torpor. Let me know how this deck works... WES

The Shock Troop Deck that ALMOST Works I racked my brain trying to come up with a Shock Troops deck that would work, and finally came up with this freaky Brujah/!Brujah Rush/Revolt deck. It's fragile as hell, but it ALMOST works. I'm hoping for advice on how to make it go. Crypt (12 cards, 6 vampires, 12 best, 20 worst, 4.2 average) 4 x Jacko (!Bru, 8, CEL POT) 2 x Victor Tolliver (!Bru, 4, CEL pot) 2 x Volker, the Puppet Prince (Bru, 5, CEL pot) 2 x Black Cat (Bru, 5, CEL pot) 2 x Rigby, Crusader Vanguard (!Bru, 5, CEL pot) Library (60 Cards total) Masters (18) Anarch Revolt x 4 Antediluvian Awakening Barrens, the Blood Doll Celerity x 6 Fragment of the Book of Nod Regent Shock Troops Tribute to the Master Waste Management Operation Minion (42) Actions: Ambush x 3 Bum's Rush x 3 Combat: Acrobatics x 2 Blur x 3 Flash x 2 Psyche x 3 Pursuit x 1 Quickness x 2 Taste of Vitae x 7 Thrown Sewer Lid x 10 Zip Gun x 6 The idea, in case it isn't clear, is to bring out Jacko and another rusher and pound the snot out of your predator and prey's vampires with manuvers and up to 5 TSLs and Zip strikes a round (Jacko + Blur + Quickness). Use the Barrens and the Fragment to discard your Celerity and Shock Troop masters as quickly as you can, then use Waste Management Operation to slap them on the bottom of your deck, followed by a Tribute to the Master. Play or discard AR/AA as convenient. The deck MUST cycle 10+ cards a round if you're going to get to the payoff in time: Bring out 6 Shock Troops with Regent Jacko, hunt, next turn play Tribute, hunt, put Tribute on the bottom, next turn play Tribute, hunt . . . you need to keep the AA and AR in play to oust your opponents, so if they're burnt or discarded get them back with WMO. Again, it ALMOST works. The Rush is often good enough to knock out your prey's blood gain so that the AA & AR polish him off, and you can slap down many a predator too. But I've never gotten to the punchline! I think the deck needs earlier pool gain. Suggestions? -- Tim Olivas ("I'm so vital!"). . Now there's an idea - Waste management. I like this a lot. Problem for you though - one Sudden Reversal. Also, I wouldn't call this a "Shock Troops" deck, since you are only intending to get about 6 Troops out, and you have 1 (unlikely) combination open to you to play them (make Jacko Regent). Nevertheless, I do like the idea of WMO and Shock Troops... > Minion (42) > > Actions: > Ambush x 3 > Bum's Rush x 3 > > Combat: > Acrobatics x 2 > Blur x 3 > Flash x 2 > Psyche x 3 > Pursuit x 1 > Quickness x 2 > Taste of Vitae x 7 > Thrown Sewer Lid x 10 > Zip Gun x 6 This will last you for 6 combats, all things being equal, but leaves you screwed if YOU get rushed! Not to mention the fact that you have nothing to stop S:CE effectively - Psyche only restarts combat, so you loose your best cards and pay another blood for the zip gun. Of course, it's all down to the metagame. In teh UK, this would last 10 seconds. Elsewhere, it would clean tables. > The idea, in case it isn't clear, is to bring out Jacko and another > rusher and pound the snot out of your predator and prey's vampires with > manuvers and up to 5 TSLs and Zip strikes a round (Jacko + Blur + > Quickness). I doubt this would work - no IGs = no kills. Very few presses too... it would just take 6 Skin of Steels and your entire strategy gets railroaded. > Again, it ALMOST works. For a Shock Trooper deck, more Shock Troops, WMO, !Brujah (You need the Archbishops / Cardinals, therefore get rid off the Cammies). For a rush deck with a twist, it'll suffice but without IGs, it could really end up in trouble.
