I know you cannot use a duplicate action modifier for the same action, and you cannot use duplicate reaction card for the same action. However can you use duplicate cards for the same round of combat, I.E. two torn signposts. The same with damage prevention, can I use two skin of steel to prevent 4 damage? I guess two torn signposts could make one angrier then one. However how can your skin be more steely with two cards, than with one :-)

Not that this allows you to do any extra damage, but yes, you may do this. > The same with damage prevention, can I use two skin of steel to prevent 4 > damage? Yes you may, as long as you don't prevent all the damage with the first card. For example, if you have 3 damage to prevent, you may play 2 Skin of Rock at superior, preventing 4 damage. However, if you only have 1 damage to prevent, you may not play 2 Skin of Rock, as you already prevented all the damage with the first card. Xian

Note: two TS don't do any more than 1. Each sets your base strength to 3 (or 2). > The same with damage prevention, can I use two skin of steel to > prevent 4 damage? I guess two torn signposts could make one No - the first Skin of Steel would prevent all of it, so the second could not be played. You could use two Skin of Rock, though. > angrier then one. [ quoted text not captured ] Well.. you can use two Torn Signposts, but since they just set your base strength to 3, you get the same effect as with one. You can use two Fists of Death, which will give you +4 hand damage at superior. You can use two Skin of Rock cards to prevent that extra 4 damage, too, if you're on the wrong end of the stick. (Skin of Steel prevents all from a strike, so I think you meant Skin of Rock instead. =) The prohibitions on duplicates are for action modifiers and reactions only, and of course by card text. -- Derek Jack-Booted Thug of Atlanta "Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge." - C. I am curious about this answer. It would appear to me that you could not play those at the same time because after the first is played the minion is no longer bleeding you, so therefore the second one would not have a target. If they resolve sequencially then the second one could not be played because it has no target. Comments Welcome, Norman S. Brown Jr. XZealot Archon of the Swamp [ quoted text not captured ]

Yes, this scenario works, but without someone bouncing it back at you then you could not play them one the same bleed. Comments Welcome, Norman S. I did mean : could i play another bleed bounce with the same vampire if the bleed was bounced back to me. which seems to have been answered in the affirmative..... thankyou J [ quoted text not captured ]

Why wouldn't you be able to? I believe the crux of my arguement lies withing the issue of timing. I believe that reactions take place as they are played sequentially not simultaneously If you have a minion with superior dom and a minion with superior auspex, and some one is bleeding you, then you play a deflection. The minion is no longer bleeding you, so no you may not play a telepathic misdirection with the second minion unless the bleed is bounced back to you. My reasoning behind this is that the deflection resolves before the telepathic misdirection is played. Once the deflection is played then there is no target for the telepathic misdirection as the minion is no longer bleeding you, therefore the telepathich misdirection can not be played. Similarly, if you had a minion with chimerstry and a minion with superior auspex, and a vampire is bleeding you at +1 stealth, then you may not first play a ignius fatus to reduce the stealth by one and then play a spirit's touch to gain +1 intecept and a manuver. The ignus fatus would have already reduced the stealth to zero by the time you played your spirits touch, and therefore since you would not have the stealth to counter then you could not play the spirits touch to gain +1 intercept and a manuver. This is because the ignius fatus would have resolved before your spirit's touch. Reactions resolve as they are played, not simultaneously so therefore you could not play both a deflection and a telepathich misdirection against a single minion trying to bleed you unless the bleed was then bounced back to you. I think the confusion is my fault, here. I missed the keywords "without someone bouncing it back to you." I only caught on that you were still arguing that you couldn't play both cards, meaning I took that to mean, "ever," including the case of a bleed bounced back to you. Sorry to make to waste your breath (fingers, whatever). I think we're all in agreement, now. Well, and have been for a while, till I messed it all up. Sorry 'bout that. [ quoted text not captured ]

No problem, I needed the practice. All I ever get to do anymore is flame people and that requires a minimum of logic. I actually enjoyed it. [ quoted text not captured ]
