Some friends of mine attended the euro-championship Vienna and bring back a earth-shaking news from there: mr. LSJ said that Claws, Spurs, Body Arsenals and Chiropteran Marauders aggravated damage effect can NOW be played AFTER the successful dealing of a blow....What the.... I don't want to shout a not-so-old slogan like "Stop the Gangrel conspiracy !", I'm not yet convinced, but this "reversal" of a old, consolidated rule seems me quite disturbing...moreover agg.damage is really widespread.... Please, tell us something about. The second question is about Obedience, I asked something some month ago, and I was fair sure about this card, then (talking about the winner deck of the above tournament) some US player said that the vampire must be untapped to play Obedience; please, here's a simple situation: Lazverinus is tapped, Beast take a D. action to attack him... can Lazverinus play Obedience ? If yes, does he untap at the resolution? Last word for the Gas Powered Chainsaw....even in SW it's a melee weapon! ...Still sure that Talbot's is not ? Thank you for your help Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.

This is not, strictly speaking, correct. >I don't want to shout a not-so-old slogan like "Stop the Gangrel >conspiracy !", I'm not yet convinced, but this "reversal" of a old, >consolidated rule seems me quite disturbing...moreover agg.damage is >really widespread.... >Please, tell us something about. There has been no reversal. The rule in place now has been used for several years, since the game's 1994 release in fact. These effects can be played after the strike is declared, but before the strikes resolve -- your use of 'successful dealing' implies that the Euro-Championship players are saying the effects can be played during/after resolution, which is incorrect. It merely means the player (if declaring strike first) can wait to see if the other minion will dodge or end combat before making the strike aggravated. >The second question is about Obedience, I asked something some month >ago, and I was fair sure about this card, then (talking about the >winner deck of the above tournament) some US player said that the >vampire must be untapped to play Obedience; please, here's a simple Only untapped vampires can play reaction cards, unless the card specifically states it is usable by a tapped vampire. Obedience lacks such text. Like all other reaction cards, then, it requires an untapped vampire. >situation: >Lazverinus is tapped, Beast take a D. action to attack him... can >Lazverinus play Obedience ? If yes, does he untap at the resolution? No, unless he plays Wake/Forced. He won't be untapped, regardless. >Last word for the Gas Powered Chainsaw....even in SW it's a melee >weapon! ...Still sure that Talbot's is not ? Quite sure. The card text is sufficiently clear. gomi -- Individually, I love you all with affection unspeakable; but, collectively, I look upon you with a disgust that amounts to absolute detestation.

Right, and to the best of my knowledge "mr. LSJ" has never stated that such effects would be effective when played after strike resolution. > >this "reversal" of a old, > >consolidated rule seems me quite disturbing > > There has been no reversal. Melee weapons are equipment that have the text "melee weapon". Nothing else is a melee weapon. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) VTES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc.
