Greets! Here is a fourth batch of questions from our local group. As usual,
thanks in advance for any and all guidance!
[1] Society of Leopold: The card text reads "During untap, that vampire loses
one blood or is burned - it's Methuselah's choice." When the vamp is empty,
must the vamp be burned, or can it instead "try and fail" to lose a blood,
similar to the ruling on Donal O'Connor?
[2] Since no transfers are used, can Nikolaus Vermeulen use his special
ability to move blood to a Brainwashed vamp in the uncontrolled region?
[3] Does Sudden Reversal wipe out the *effect* of the master phase action,
or the master phase action itself? In other words, is the player who was
"reversed" still considered to have taken his master phase action?
[4] Charnas the Imp: The card text reads "If the minion is burned, its
controller can place Charnas on any minion." What is the antecedent of
"its" in that statement? The minion? Charnas?
[5] If a player initiates an action with an action card, and then cancels
that action with Change of Target, does the player take the original action
card back into his hand?
[6] Is the effect of Aching Beauty cumulative?
[7] And lastly, a quick review question on the stealth/intercept rules:
If a player is attempting a bleed with, say, Aggripina (sup obf), and his
prey attempts to block, is the bleeder PROHIBITED from using *superior*
Lost in Crowds, since he only needs +1 stealth at that moment to get past
his prey's intercept? (which is zero, of course, since he hasn't played
any intercept yet.)
Thanks!

No. Unlike Donal's special ability, in this case the card provides
explicit instructions as to the consequences of attempting to burn a blood
you do not have.
: [2] Since no transfers are used, can Nikolaus Vermeulen use his special: ability to move blood to a Brainwashed vamp in the uncontrolled region?
Since the Brainwash only prevents the spending of transfers to move blood
to or from a brainwashed vampire, it seems reasonable to me Nikolaus could
use his special ability. AFAIK, however, no official ruling has been made.
: [3] Does Sudden Reversal wipe out the *effect* of the master phase action,: or the master phase action itself? In other words, is the player who was

Playing a SR on someone else wipes out:
- the playing (and therefore any effects generated by) another player's
Master Card, and
- the SR player's entire next master phase.
The Methuselah who was thetarget of the SR may still do other Master
Phase effects, if they have any.
: [4] Charnas the Imp: The card text reads "If the minion is burned, its: controller can place Charnas on any minion." What is the antecedent of

The minion.
: [5] If a player initiates an action with an action card, and then cancels: that action with Change of Target, does the player take the original action
: card back into his hand?
No. Do not assume anything not written on the card; CoT doesn't say that
you get the action card back, and thus you don't.
: [6] Is the effect of Aching Beauty cumulative?
Cumulative with what? It is certainly cumulative with an Archon and a
Camarilla Exemplary, but I do not believe that multiple Aching Beauty
cards on a single vampire would cause a multiple pool loss. I am not 100%
on this one, however, and will burn incense to the great answer-man LSJ
in the hopes that he will rescue me. :)
: [7] And lastly, a quick review question on the stealth/intercept rules:: If a player is attempting a bleed with, say, Aggripina (sup obf), and his

: Lost in Crowds, since he only needs +1 stealth at that moment to get past
: his prey's intercept? (which is zero, of course, since he hasn't played
: any intercept yet.)
The bleeded would be allowed to use the superior version in this case, as
it is a single card that they are using. They would not be allowed to use
multiple cards to produce the same effect (+2 stealth), since as soon as
the first +1 stealth was played, they would then have more than enough to
sneak by. Similarly for intercept.
This does lead to situations where the ordering of cards is important,
however, if one is trying to cycle cards:
A: calls vote. (has Spying Mission and LiC in hand.) tot: +1 stealth
B: plays Sup. Enhanced Senses to block. tot: +2 intercept.
two situations nbow arise:
A: plays Sup. Lost in crowds tot: +3 stealth
(cannot play any more stealth cards now.)
or
A: plays inf. spying mission tot: +2 stealth
A: plays sup. LiC tot: +4 stealth
Both situations are legal, as in the second one the action would still be
blocked without the addition of further stealth. The second situation,
however, allows for the cycling of one more card, if that is your intent.

I guess you don't since the card doesn't say you do, which is the normal way.

I asked this one last week, and the answer is yes it is cumulative
with itself as well as the other cards.

And the player who was reversed is still considered to have used her master
phase action, so may not, for example, play another Master card as that
action (in lieu of the reversed Master).

It is cumulative with other Aching Beauties as well. Twice Beautiful =
pay two pool to block.

The modern day Inquisition. (Nobody expects the... oh forget it... :)
When the Inquisition of the Middle Ages began, the Society of Leopold
(break away to RPG reality) started when a specific monk in the
Inquisition ran acrossed a vampire and started a crusade against these
"infernal monsters". They eventually became autonomous from the Catholic
Church, and still exist today.
The Inquisition is dangerous, but relatively naive (hence the ability to
pass it on to someone else). Other comments, everyone?

Not quite. You're thinking of the Arcanum. The Society of Leopold is
the modern day Inquisition. See my earlier post on this thread.

Well, it's one of those anyway.

purposefullness, noble being-for-oneself.
