Im thinking of attending this tourney, where can I find the rules for a DCI Sanctioned Rochester Draft style tournament of 4? thanks bradlye

Well what do you know. No one seems to have the new rules posted on their websites - I tried Madness Network, Lasombra's Page, and even the WotC DCI page. I have it in my most recent TO handbook though, so I guess I should type it in and post it on my web page. Should be up by Y2K. Chris [ quoted text not captured ] -- [ quoted text not captured ]

I just want to point out that the DCI tournament rules to be found at this page were last updated Sept 1, 1998. The Rochester Draft rules became DCI official around Oct of 1999. If you look at teh DCI rules at thispage, there are no Draft rules. I will be posting the Draft rules I will be using at Anarch Revolt Los Angeles. These are somewhat more spelled out than what comes in teh Tournament Organizer's notebook, while still I believe staying within the rules as given. LSJ - please correct me if they are wrong. They were last updated (according to their preambles) on Oct 7, 1999 (UTR) and October 1, 1999 (VTES). You are apparently still looking at the old page, not the new one. Check the new page: http://www.wizards.com/DCI/UTR_Intro.asp > The Rochester Draft rules > became DCI official around Oct of 1999. If you look at teh DCI rules > at thispage, there are no Draft rules. They are given in sections 70ff, with additional VTES-only rules given in sections 730ff of the VTES rules. The online copy is missing only section 737, which I noted on this NG on Oct 28, 1999. That section is reproduced here again: ----- 737. Rules for V:TES Rochester Draft Tournaments This rule works in conjunction with Section 77 and 78 of the Universal Tournament Rules. Players open their first booster packs when the pod judge instructs them to do so. After counting the cards face-down to make sure the pack is correct, players then move all vampire (crypt) cards to the top of the pack face-down. If players do not have the appropriate number of cards in a pack, they must immediately notify the head judge, who will replace the pack. Players then place their opened packs face-down on the table in front of them. At a signal from the pod judge, players place the top two cards from their booster pack [sic] face-up on the table. The pod judge then has players draft according to section 77 and 78 of the Universal Tournament Rules until the packs are completely drafted. ----- > I will be posting the Draft > rules I will be using at Anarch Revolt Los Angeles. If they match the online version, then they are correct. I cannot guarantee that I'll find time to compare your creation with the official rules, but I'll let you know if I do. My browser must have been loading a cached version or something. I connected correctly this time, and found the appropriate information. Thanks. I still find the rules to be lacking somewhat in clarity, so I created my own, which I think spells out more clearly the steps involved in doing a V:TES Rochester draft.
