Real action always brings out the best:
1) Lupo has 'FAME' and one blood. Prey has 3 blood and blocks bleed with
Grendel (2 blood). I toss in a 'Trap' after block is declared. Can Grendel's
Meth. force him choose to do no damage for three rounds (without cards),
thus going into torpor, instead of getting ousted?
2) Charming Lobby: The card itself is an action. This would tend to indicate
that it is not paired with a political action (which would make two actions),
but rather that a mystery vote (passes) is called for which there is no
apparent agenda. The Meth. can then use another vampire to play a political
action which would be automatic, but would be of NIL value for Voter
Captivation/Bribes etc.
3) In the fine print somewhere, Encounter Vampire in torpor is described
as a (D) action which would mean that only target could block it. Is it
truly a (D)?
4) Rampage: When burning a location you control, does the (D) still apply?
Can any Meth attempt to block the +1 stealth self-destruct? Or only those
specifics like Anneke/Eagle's Sight?
5) Can a flak jacket prevent damage to a retainer? Or fortitude cards?
6) If more than one Meth is ousted by a single action (e.g. Ancilla
Empowerment), who gets VP/blood (and how much) if the targets are
my prey and my grand-prey?
That should keep Rules guys busy for 10-15 seconds...
Cheers,

No. That's the beauty of Trap.

This doesn't sound like a question, but the answer is yes :)

Yes, it is.

Wow. I never thought of that, but it makes sense. You should be able
to wreck havok in your garden without you neighbors interfering...

No.

Each predator gets a point for the death of its prey. So the grand-
predator only gets one point (unless he's the last player).

Of course, Encounter Vampire in Torpor is not a (D) if you encounter a
vampire in your own torpor region, but is performed at +1 stealth. I only
have the revised rules, so I don't know whether this info was omitted from
the original rules.

This came up in a recent game, and I have no real idea as to the correct
answer, both seem appropriate.
I attack with my Serra Angel (4/4 flying), my opponent wants to block with
a Hero (1/1 banding) and the Giant Spider (2/4 blocks flying). Could my
opponent block the Angel and distribute the damage? I would have to say
no, but I'm not positive about the banding ability.
Thanks,
Chris
Paralyze is a pretty cool card after all. I was debating whether
to put 4 Terrors or 4 Paralyze in my deck and decided that Paralyze
was a bit more useful. Here were my reasons:
Assumptions: I have a Nettling Imp and a Royal Assassin
in my deck. I am tuning my deck against all decks.
My deck works on the basis of getting big creatures
out fast (Sengirs and Juggernauts) by turn 1 (ideally)
and surely by turn 3 (average case).
1) Paralyze works on almost all creatures. Terror doesn't.
2) While Terror does nuke the creature completely, Paralyze is
just as good early in the game.
3) Paralyze is a good combination with a Royal Assassin or
a Nettling Imp.
4) Paralyze can also save a game against a Meekstone deck if you
use big creatures.
Whaddya all think? Am I off my chump on thinking this way?

well, the hero doesn't fly, so it can't block the angel. That leaves one
defender, who would have to take all the damage.
assume that the hero was flying. in that case your opponent could
distribute the damage, cause one of the defenders has banding.
the problem is that the bander doesn't fly, so can't get in the way of
the angel.

Well, here's a non-expert opinion *grin*
First off, there are some cards you want to get rid of that paralyze won't
handle. Well, unless you have the royal assassin out...like, if you try
to paralyze someone's prodigal sorceror, they can tap it in response and it
will fizzle your spell. However, your aim is still reached and your royal
assassin can still kill it...same with samite healer...
i personally like terrors cuz of the cool artwork *grin*

Good point.

You're correct. It'd be great if Banding granted special abilities,
but it doesn't. Next time, have him put Mesa Pegasi in his deck.

Just watch out for the Miracle Workers!
Myself, I prefer StP. Sure, your opponent gains six life because his
Craw Wurm is gone. Just take 'em back with a few of your Mammoths...

Other questions were answered fine by others...

Encountering your own vampires in torpor is non-directed. Encountering
other players' vampires there is directed.
>4) Rampage: When burning a location you control, does the (D) still apply?

The card certainly says that it would be directed, and that makes some
amount of sense. I'll double check that that's the right answer.
>5) Can a flak jacket prevent damage to a retainer? Or fortitude cards?
Retainers can't take equip actions (and thus equipment), so can't make
use of a Flak Jacket. They don't get to use cards requiring disciplines,
as they have no disicplines. Basically, all they do is add onto the
vampire's stats. I think a Ghoul Retainer using Talbot's Chainsaw would
be able to make use of the damage prevention, however.

I would say that you get your prey's ante, and your prey gets your
grand-prey's ante (and each of you gets a victory point). I'll check
on that, too.

Your reasons are valid, but if you end up playing a White deck with
Miracle Workers Paralyse is only useful for the immediate tapping efect.

With the banding ability anything that can block one of the banded
creatures blocks all the creatures in the band. As far as the damage the
banding ability lets the defending creature decide where the damage goes
so it can be all to the spider, all to the hero or a little to both. The
manual (yeah the little thing that comes with the packs) explain banding
to the point that I think you will be able to come to the same conclusion.

The Player's guide is a bit vague on this point, but it does
specifically say that non-flying creatures cannot be assigned to block
flying creatures,(the spider being an exception) ergo the hero cannot be
assigned to block the angel. Note that the situation is very different
when banding creatures are attacking, since flying creatures can band with
non-flyers in an attack, and if either one is blocked, they are both
blocked.
