Form of Mist

I was reading the errata list for, ahem, another thread when I came across this errata for Form of Mist: "The superior counts as an action modifier when played by an acting vampire, so cannot be played more than once per action at superior." [RTR 19980623] So I got to wondering... Suppose Chandler attempts to hunt; Anneke plays The Second Tradition: Domain and blocks; Chandler plays Form of Mist at superior; Anneke plays Majesty at superior and pays to untap. Can Anneke attempt to block again without any further intercept? I say yes, since the errata for Form of Mist indicate that it is the same action, and from 6.2.2: "Note that all modifications made to a minion's stealth or intercept remain in effect for the duration of the action." If that was too easy, then how about this one: Chandler bleeds; Watenda blocks; Chandler plays Form of Mist at superior; Watenda cancels that strike (ability); Can Chandler not play a second Form of Mist at superior from his hand in light of the fact that "it cannot be played more than once per action at superior?" - Jason Bell

Correct. (And this answer would be the same even without the errata on Form of Mist). > If that was too easy, then how about this one: > > Chandler bleeds; > Watenda blocks; > Chandler plays Form of Mist at superior; > Watenda cancels that strike (ability); > > Can Chandler not play a second Form of Mist > at superior from his hand in light of the fact > that "it cannot be played more than once > per action at superior?" Correct (due to the errata). -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. Links to revised rulebook, rulings, errata, and tournament rules: http://www.white-wolf.com/vtes/

The action continuance is lost. See the online rulings. So lets say I am bums rushing someone, they block to prevent me from getting the manuver. 1) When do I replace the bums rush, as soon as the action is successfully blocked, or not until combat is over?(since you do not pay costs for unsuccessful actions, is that part of the cost?) 2) If, during that combat, as my strike I play Form of Mist, will combat end, putting me back to the origional, Bums Rush action and begin a new combat?(including my manuver?)

Angus has one blood. Angus does fifth tradition hospitality. Angus gets blocked and plays a combat card. Angus gets punched for one. Other vamp presses. Second round, Angus now has a form of mist and plays it. He no longer has the blood to pay for the fifth tradition. We ruled that the action just fizzled and the card was lost... correct? Tig

[ quoted text not captured ] Actually I looked this up. The guy who was kibitzing our game (I forget his name from the tournament) turned out to be correct. From the White Wolf Official Clarifications, Rulings, and Errata page under "Actions": "If a minion cannot pay the cost of an action when the action resolves, the action continues with no effect ('fizzles'). Oh dear. Alright, how about this. Does superior Majesty's untap ability modify an acting minion's action in the same sense that Freak Drive does? If so, does superior Majesty fall under this Watenda ruling as well? - Jason Bell

If so, what happens if I Form of Mist back into the Bum's Rush (or Arson, or any action that has the Do Not Replace advisory)? Form of Mist, mmmmm trouble. - Jason Bell

[ quoted text not captured ] No. The nly similarity between FoM and Majesty is that they are both S:CE effects. FoM does not untap the striker. [ quoted text not captured ]
