If one uses a gun to manoeuver then one can not use a strike combat ends card, right? So with immortal grapple one can't combat ends out of the fight, right? When a vampire attepts to rescue itself out of torpor and is blocked, is diablerie compulsory or can the acting vampire do nothing? Just wondering, M Whitbread

Peace Michael, Yes, if you use a weapon to gain a maneuver, you must strike with that weapon, which would prevent S:CE card plays (on the weapon wielder's part). >So with immortal grapple one can't combat ends out of the fight, right? Yes, IG says "hand strikes only" and S:CE is NOT a "hand strike." >When a vampire attepts to rescue itself out of torpor and is blocked, is >diablerie compulsory or can the acting vampire do nothing? I'm not sure what the official ruling is on this one. We play that it is optional. Nil carborundum illigitimi, James R. McClure Jr. The OS/2 Apostle <insert disclaimer here>

We play that it is >optional. And that is the official way. Corrected Rulebook: Leave Torpor (no card required): The only action a vampire in torpor can take is to rescue itself by spending 2 blood. This action is at +1 stealth. If this action is blocked, there is no combat, the vampire attempting to leave torpor remains in torpor, and the blocking vampire is given the opportunity to destroy the vampire (see Diablerie, Sec. 16.3.). Like any other action, this taps the acting vampire. -- L. Scott Johnson (sjoh...@math.sc.edu) | These opinions are mine and http://www.math.sc.edu/~sjohnson | are subject to card text.
