Environmental damage and disarm

I was wondering (it came up recently) what happens if my minion inflicts more damage at close range by strikes as my opponent does, but he has played a Carrion Crows. In total I get more damage. Can I still play disarm? I would say yes, since the carrion crows inflict the damage and not the opposing vampire (as with if I strike with aggro damage at first strike I still get damage from the carrion crows). Am I right in this or totally wrong? Grtz, Pepijn
