Can one play two identical cards at the same time? For example: 2 fists of death (+2+2=5 DAMAGE!!!) or 2 cats guidance for increaced intercept or identical stealth modifier card I'd be happy if someone could send me some sort of rulebook that is more compleate then the one one gets with the starter ;-)

There is no limit to the number of duplicate cards that can be played in a combat. There are meta-rules however: 1) You cannot cancel your own manuever or press 2) You cannot have more than one source of additional strikes > 2 cats guidance for increaced intercept > or > identical stealth modifier card A minion can only play one particular action modifier or reaction, per minion, per action. I.e., a minion could not cat's react twice to an action, but two _different_ minions could both play telepathic counter in response to a bleed. So, you may not play more than one Cat's Guidance on a minion in response of one action. The same for action modifiers; it's not legal to play more than one identical action modifiers. This is not the case to non-strike combat cards, such as Fists os Death. AFAIK, it *is* possible to stack these effects. > I'd be happy if someone could send me some sort of rulebook that is > more compleate then the one one gets with the starter ;-) > > You may argue that the book is incomplete in some ways, but you really shouldn't complain about what you ask: read the manual more carefully next time before posting something like this. :) You all should be extremely glad that a good game such as this has such a costumer support (flawed that it may be, but I prefer scraps to nothing at all). The manual is quite good compared with some others that I've seen. Certainly not flawless, but it manages to allow players to play many games without a doubt arising that is not cleared in the rules -- and even those who aren't are not *that* serious. In other games you have troubles right at the beginning and are stuck to house rules if you intend to play it -- and I hate house rules. :) Well... in spite of this, I only hope I have solved your problem :) David Pontes 8[

This is what makes Cloak the Gathering so useful (other than the fact that it can give stealth to untalented minions). Combat cards CAN be stacked, but only one strike card can be used (see 8.1.1). Thus a fists of death can stack but a card that says "strike" for +1 damage can not.

DOUGDWISE

To elaborate on David's point a bit: If any of you remember playing M:t$ for the first time and the nightmare of trying to figure out the timing rules you will appreciate the great job Garfield did with the Jyhad rules. The book covers things so well that there isn't much you need to add. If you haven't had the experience of playing that other game, don't. It is not only hopelessly bound up in timing issues, it just seems plain silly. Distance provides perspective. Doug Dunaway

>Can one play two identical cards at the same time? >For example: >2 fists of death (+2+2=5 DAMAGE!!!) Yes! There is no limit to the number of combat cards you can use. Remember, though, that you can only use one strike card per strike. (so you can't use 3 Undead Strengths in one strike, but you can use 3 Undead Strengths over 3 strikes) >2 cats guidance for increaced intercept No. Only one reaction card of a type per vampire may be played per action. So this means that all your vampires can each play a Cat's Guidance, but no vampire may use 2 or more Cat's Guidances. Mind you, you can still increase intercept with different intercept cards. Once the action has been resolved, everyone's intercept goes back to zero. >identical stealth modifier card Same as with reaction cards. Only one action modifier of a type per vampire may be played per action. Of course, most action modifiers may only be played by the acting minion, so you will never have 2 or more Lost in Crowds played by a single vampire. There are exceptions to this however: cards like Cloak the Gathering, Mask of a Thousand Faces, and Hidden Lurker are action modifiers played by someone other than the acting minion. This means that you could get a bunch of Cloak the Gatherings played by different vampires, all to increase the stealth of one vampire's action. (this could lead to some Stealth/Intercept imbalances in the game... but that's a different story)
