Hello, Here's today's question : When do you put cards on the Shilmulo Tarot / Mokole Blood, and is it different if it enters play in not-from-hand way (from out of the game: Descent into Darkness, put in play from the library: Alastor, equipped from the library: Magic of the Smith)? If a copy of the equipment is already in play when the action to equip is performed (and successful), do you put the cards on the equipment ? Thanks -- cardtexts : Mokolé Blood AKA: Mokole Blood Cardtype: Equipment Clan: Follower of Set Cost: 1 pool Unique equipment. Search your library -{and/or}- ash heap for up to four cards that require Serpentis [ser] and place them on this card (face down). Shuffle afterward. You may look at the cards at any time. This Follower of Set may play a card from this equipment as if from your hand (requirements and cost apply as usual). When the last card is removed, burn this equipment. Shilmulo Tarot Cardtype: Equipment Clan: Ravnos Unique equipment. Move the top two cards from your library to this equipment (face down). You may look at the cards on this equipment at any time. If this Ravnos is ready and you should draw a card from your library, you may draw one of these cards instead. During your untap phase, you may move the top card from your library to this card.

Just returning to play won't cause the card to be re-played or anything. See also Incriminating Videotape. So if it is on a vampire who Descends into Darkness and then later re-enters play, it keeps whatever it has but gains nothing new for the trip. Likewise for Banishment and being contested. If it is brought into play "new" (standard equip action, Alastor, Magic of the Smith), then it gets the cards. Like Incriminating Videotape. > If a copy of the equipment is already in play when the action to equip > is performed (and successful), do you put the cards on the equipment ? Yes. Does this apply to effects that search your library for a card by name or type or similar? For example, could you Sybil's Tongue a card from out of your Shimulo Tarot?

No. >For example, could you Sybil's Tongue a card from >out of your Shimulo Tarot? No. The cards on the Tarot are not in your hand or library and cannot be targeted by effects which target your hand or library. You give two ansers here ("When it is successfully played", and "If it is brought 'new' " ), which are different. Due tu some almost- unrelated question on the NG, I ran a search for Inscription, and here is what I found : http://groups.google.com/group/rec.games.trading-cards.jyhad/msg/eb6893a825c5199d Is this linked ruling still correct? It seems contrary to the second answer.

Yes. I overstated the answer above. Alastor doesn't play the card, so it doesn't grab the extra cards (nor would it attach a minion target to the Videotape).

Alastor doesn't play the card, so it doesn't > grab the extra cards (nor would it attach a minion target to the Videotape). however if the vampiore used Alastor to fetch inscrip[tion, as per the link, and then another minion took it from him via the normal equip action, would inscriptions text trigger then?

[ quoted text not captured ] No. Like the Videotape.
