This still does not address a question I asked earlier: namely, what
if both normal and aggravated damage are done in a single strike? I
would argue that the normal damage is applied first, then the
aggravated damage, but the rules don't state. Tom?
(My apologies if this was answered earlier, my news seems to have
expired a bit faster than normal.)

Yes. How can this happen? Suppose I have a weapon that does 2 damage,
aggravated. Or, suppose my minion does aggravated hand damage and I
play a combat card that ups the minion's hand damage. In either case,
the other minion will go to torpor and lose blood.
