Dear fellow Methuselah ! a week ago when testng my new Brujah deck my group ran into the following questions: 1) Donal O'Connor is blocked. Combat starts and opposing vamp looses 1 blood due to Donal's special ability. Combat ends, Donal plays Psyche to start a new combat. Does the opposing vamp loose another 1 blood before this 2. combat starts ? I clained yes (we agreed to rule no for the time being) and the argument is that Donal did not perform a new action but it is just a new combat that starts since his action was blocked in the first place and therefor qualifies for the bloodloss. That leads to another question (has been asked in the past but don't remember the answer): If during this 2. combat Donal plays Form of Mist (he's got sup PRO :-) would he be allowed to continue his action 2 combats ago ? I'd say yes (but you never know :-) 2) Bianca (with sup POT) played Fists of Death and Undead Strength to hit the opposing vamp (4 blood) for 6 thus sending her to topor. Bianca then played Taste of Vitae. How much blood did she get. 4 or 6 ? (We agreed on 4 but I rather would have seen 6 :-) Michael -- Michael Gerdau email: michael...@elmshorn.netsurf.de 2b or not 2b that's ff (or ger...@ifm.uni-hamburg.de) PGP-key available on request or at public keyserver Key fingerprint = 1FA5AEC97D4EF476 E964D42685B60B4E

Does the opposing vamp loose another > 1 blood before this 2. combat starts ? Actually it is no. Donal was only blocked once. He decided to re-start the combat, not perform a second action. Even if you consider re-starting a successful action (which you really shouldn't) the action always succeeds. Thus no blood loss > That leads to another question (has been asked in the past but don't > remember the answer): > If during this 2. combat Donal plays Form of Mist (he's got sup PRO :-) > would he be allowed to continue his action 2 combats ago ? With the current errata, that's correct. But, as written, Donal would have required the blocker to pay an additional blood before the second combat. (Now, Donal just forces the blocker to burn a blood as the action is blocked - combat or no - so a second combat wouldn't invoke his special ability). ---- And that leads to more questions (TOM): Does the current errata/ruling on Donal mean that, if Donal untaps with Change of Target, the blocker still pays one (since the one is burned when the action is blocked - not during combat). Similarly, the blocker would burn 1 even if he used Obedience to avoid combat, right? -- L.
