Suppose I have 6 points of influence on Gilbert Duane in my uncontrolled region but Gilbert is already a ready minion of an opponent. Could I take control of Gilbert in the following way: 1) Play Malkavian Dementia to take control of opponent's Gilbert 2) Put the 7th blood on my Gilbert putting me in contention with myself 3) Decide that I don't like contending with myself and burn *my opponent's* Gilbert Is this legal/will it work?! A lot of hassle I'll agree but as Malkie's are a rather popular clan... Jeff Ingalls (yo...@aol.com) "I will scar your soul with all the colors of the wind." --Self/Pocahontas

You can only bring out your Gilbert at the end of your turn. You can only give up a contested card during your untap phase however the Malkavian Dementia card says to return control of the vampire at the beginning of the untap phase. Therefore you can't give up his copy of Gilbert since you no longer have it. Much better way is to steal a full malkavian and minion tap it (if you have Rumors of Gehenna or Anson) then diablerize a vampire and call a bloodhunt to destroy the vampire (I've had it happen to me before so don't say it can't happen. More insulting was that it was Gilbert and he voted to burn himself!) Hope this helps Jeff

You can't yield anything except *during* your untap phase, which is after the point at which you lost control of the Demented Malk. -- ----- L.
