I'm a novice V:TES french player and i've a 4-2-1 Giovanni deck (4 common , 2 unknow, 1 rare ) which work perfecly. I've just one Combo : Talbot Chainsaw and the Giovanni Wraith . Could you give me some others with common cards ? Thanks JB

As to for your question: If you want to play and you and your friends are new to the game, don't focus on combos. They will come eventually. Try to put in some bleeding cards (dominate skill), combat cards (potence skill) and some necromancy goodies (like Spirits of the Dead, Torment the Soul, Soul Stealing,...). If you have him, try Leonardo, Mortician. He's really cool and gives your vamps more blood. Do you have a Morgue Hunting Ground in your deck? A good hint is always: buy a few new booster packs, you'll obtain new cards you possibly want to include in your deck or trade with. If you buy, buy mostly V:TES (as there are the good dominate/potence cards), Dark Sovereigns, and *some* Ancient Hearts (there are 3 new Giovanni Vamps in the set). Another question that comes to mind: do you play with a card limit or not? There are two different "groups" in the world of V:TES players: the NL (no limit) and the 4CL/xCL (4 or x card limit). They oppose each other quite strongly, but you should play whatever style you like best. (I myself like 4CL best). -Carl

Even your little Giovanni may become very dangerous. You may combine Giovanni with Lasombra, if you have access to Sabbat, for a greater choice of Vampires. You may combine Giovanni with Malkavian or Nosferatu to include an S&B tactic (->Mask of 1k Faces, uncommon). You may construct a Euro Brujah-Giovanni bloodmachine with the core vampires of Constanza Vinti, Donal O'Connor, Carlotta Giovanni and the card combo: Minion Tap, 5th Tradition (uncommon), and card recycling with Carlotta and Whispers from the Dead. There may be other combos, the above just crossed my mind thinking of Giovanni. Sorry that there are only very few pure common card combos. > Hi, I'm from Vienna, and we play V:TES since the beginning. > > As to for your question: > > If you want to play and you and your friends are new to the game, > don't > focus on combos. but try to find them. You will discover that certain card combinations are more useful than others. Michael Beer

As you are addressing a self-described "newbie", you should denote your house rules appropiately. One should play the official rules (e.g. "No card limits") unless one finds a reason to adopt a house rule. -- L. Scott Johnson (vte...@wizards.com) Official VtES Net.Rep for Wizards of the Coast. In article <3556EC...@wizards.com>, [ quoted text not captured ] Sorry, LSJ, I kinda forget this every now and then. I'll put that right: 4CL is kind of international house rule. Many players abide by it. I do it myself. Any player should play the way he likes it! -----== Posted via Deja News, The Leader in Internet Discussion ==----- http://www.dejanews.com/ Now offering spam-free web-based newsreading
