I heard that dark sovereigns' François Villon has been banned, because he is too powerful. is it true, just as in france, malkav stealth/bleed decks were banned?

[ quoted text not captured ] No, it is not true. The banned list consists only of the Ante cards, the Paralyze cards, the Monocle of Clarity, and the Madness of the Bard. No vampires have been banned, and certainly no deck archetypes have been (or could be) banned. -- L. Scott Johnson (vte...@wizards.com) VTES Net.Rep for Wizards of the Coast. The only cards banned under the official tournament rules are the ante cards, Monacle of Clarity, Stake, Rowan Ring, and Madness of the Bard. And there are no banned strategies. I've never heard Francois Villon called too powerful... If you do that, you might as well ban half the Sabbat vampires, too. :) Also, under tournament rules, ie no card limit, Stealth & Bleed is just another deck type that has just as high a rate of success as other fast, efficient deck types. There are ways to prevent it, if you're ready for it. John Baker

But to answer your question, no, he hasn't been banned in any region that I'm aware of. > is it true, just as in france, malkav stealth/bleed > decks were banned? *shrug* I've never understood the reasoning of banning deck archetypes from tournamanents. Friendly play, I can understand, but not tournaments. Tournaments are supposed to be a competitive environment. If you don't like S&B decks, teach them the error of their ways. If enough people put Malkavian Derangement masters in their decks, you'll see very few Malk decks for quite a while. There's a number of ways that can defeat S&B decks. Weenies w/ Presence voting decks, rush combat, decks designed to steal vampires (Mind Rape and Setite stuff) and so forth. I used to play a deck that would put Fortitude cards on everyone else's vampires, steal them and do things like Force of Will and Daring the Dawn so the vampire goes back to the original owner in torpor. You can still do this with existing WotC errata pretty effectively. Noal -- "Excuse me. Are you a yuppie?" -woman at a gas station in Detroit [ quoted text not captured ]

No doubt. Just put a haven uncovered on him. Then rush him with imortal grapple and celerity potence strikes. Add press where needed. He is a tough vampire true but that does not mean he can't die.
