What about Death of My Conscience? I don't have the card text handy (I'm assuming you immediately refill your hand, so you could use it several times), but that would seem to be the way to go. For pure damage efficiency, I'd just go for Lazervinus with a single DoMC. 11 hand damage, with 1 card (well, assuming you don't count the discards!) -- /\ Jasper Phillips /VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV|~"~"~"~"~"~"----------........____ jaz j^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^\/"~"~"~"~-----------........._____ ~"~--. * http://www.engr.orst.edu/~philljas/ "~"~'--`

I've just been thinking on the Jyhad front again since I received some goodies in a trade and started thinking about this question. What is the highest amount of hand damage you can give a vampire (any vamp, your choice) using the fewest amount of cards? I cannot wait to see the creative responses to this question. Cheers, Andrew

But if two players are allowed to cooperate, it is certainly well over 100, and a LOT of cards get played. Lazverinus [+2], Legendary Vampire, Island [+5], Depravity [+ 1], Cardinal Benediction, 2 clan impersonations to get Art of Pain [+2] and Ritual Challenge [+1], Torn Signpost [+2], Elder Library, The Tremere 10 who increases hand size, Death of my Conscience and burn 7 for +7, then another player burns their entire library comprising only Drawing Out the Beast for + library size. So it's a lot! 108 or more, in a 90- card game, for an outlay by two players of 97-ish cards. Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.

Fire in the Blood (getting you +1 per round) Trap, getting you lots of rounds. Cailean, getting you POT and set range. Increased Strength * (decksize - 3) Growing Fury (at superior, Strike: +3 hand damage, not 1st round) Growing Fury is a hand strike in this instance so Increased Strength will add +2 hand damage to it, inheriting the properties of the base damage. Trap the first round, And Fire in the blood getting you started. Cailean continually sets range to long, so that both vampires wave at each other. On the 4th round, play 1 of your Increased Strengths On the 7th round, play 1 of your Increased Strengths And so on. Assuming you have 87 Increased Strength, 87*3+1= 262nd round that you play your final Increased Strength on. On the 265th round, combat would end due to three rounds passing without combat cards being played, so on the 265th round, you strike with Growing Fury, after setting range to close. 1 base hand damage + 265 hand damage from Fire in the Blood + 174 hand damage from Increased Strength + 3 hand damage from Growing Fury ----- 443 hand damage total I think. -- James Coupe

(Approximate under DCI tournament rules) Here's how I got there: Fire in the blood is cumulative and Ankara Rocks! Cailean gets Thaumaturgy and gets the Ankara Cailean enters combat with Sammy Sammy plays a trap and Cailean plays a fire in the blood Cailean will continue to play fire in the blood's every third round until he is out of cards. Then Sammy starts playing Drawing out the Beasts every third round. Then all the other players start playing Nosferatu Putrescence every third round, that should get you over 85,000 hand damage. Anyway. The proof is left as an excercise to the reader. I have an Excel spreadsheet which works most of the math out. Stu -Your Friendly Neighborhood Camarilla Scholar. [ quoted text not captured ]

> Cailean gets Thaumaturgy and gets the Ankara Correction. Ankara requires Tremere not Thaum - so Cailean clan impersonates Tremere and gets Ankara. Same difference. BTW - as a function of cards, this concept uses 450 cards for 85000 hand damage yielding an approximate efficiency of 188 hand damage per card. I haven't fully evaluated the function to see if there is a localized maximum at less than 450 cards, but I suspect it asymetrically approaches +264/card since you will have 88 Fire in the bloods in play. Anyway, There are apparantly three solutions to my New Challange. [ quoted text not captured ]

In article <80uqa3$5oc$1...@nnrp1.deja.com>, [ quoted text not captured ] If "you" means the whole table, then I think your answer is about right. But if it really does mean you, the player controlling the vamp, then it's a bit less. I'm fairly sure that this deck can deal 20, 569 hand damage on the 264th round of combat, with no help from anyone else, except to block. That is what I maximized. The only higher efficiency I can get to requires that you not count vampires and get Basil in combat with Lazvernius for a 4 hand damage zero card strike. If you count vampires as cards, my solution uses 452 cards and an efficiency of +188 damage/card. >But if it really does mean you, the player controlling the vamp, then >it's a bit less. Limiting it to one player yields 569 hand damage on 90 or 91 cards used for an efficiency of only slightly greater than +6 hand damage per card. Still impressive.
