Can someone please let me know what do i need to set up a news account with Outlook to view the group with it ? e.g. what is the server address, e.t.c or where i can find this data. note: i use outlook express to read my mail, but don't know how to set up a news account and never tried to. George

To use Outlook Express you need to: 1) contact your internet service provider or check their website to find out their news server name. Usually referred to as a NNTP server. 2) in Outlook express go to Tools > Accounts > click on "Add" and you want to add a "News" account. OE will then take you through a little wizard that will collect info like the server name. 3)once set up it will usually ask if you want to look at a list of groups now, find rec.games.trading-cards.jyhad on it and click subscribe. You should be good to go. I'm not sure it can be set up in Outlook, but Outlook Express works fine as above. There may be other ways but this is what I use. -JTP Winnipeg <geo...@for.auth.gr> wrote in message news:1106827935.9...@f14g2000cwb.googlegroups.com... [ quoted text not captured ]

[ quoted text not captured ] Hey, I just picked George's email, since he was having trouble finding out how to automatically include brackets on reply text, using Google Groups. http://groups-beta.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=14213&topic=108 That link tells you to click on the 'show options' link at the top of a given article displayed in Google Groups, then hit the 'Reply' button within the drop-down options given below the message header (NOT the 'Reply' link at the bottom of the message). Now you know. Easy as pie... DaveZ Atom Weaver

Now you know. Easy as > pie... > Thanks man, i appreciate it :) [well, there was another way, use the bottom "reply" button and then try to post without any text, so that got you an error and redirected you to the big window with the automatic quoted text of the message you were replying to. Anyway, the way you are mentioning is far more easier and faster, so thanks :) ] George

Anyway, the way you are mentioning is far more easier > and faster, so thanks :) ] You should be able to click "Reply" and get the same results (I do). If you click the triangle-arrow beside "Reply", you get the abbreviated (no context) reply window. But if you click the word "Reply" instead, you get a quoted-context window. Or at least, I do. Its better than Google Groups, whatever it is. If the idea of using an MS product so extensively is abhorrent to you, check out a place like download.com for 'Newsgroup Readers' for variuos freeware options. I still like Forte's FreeAgent...
