Just a few newbie questions - I've been playing for a while and a few common arguments seem to crop up amongst my group, and the rules don't *seem* to cover them (but maybe I'm blind) Q : Can tapped vampires vote ? Q : Are tapped vampires considered "ready" in terms of, say, Ancient Influence ? Q : Can excess Agg. damage burn a Vampire ? I don't think so, but someone I know insists it can.... Aside from Diablerie, and cards like the (sixth? Fourth?) tradition, what ways can a vampire be burnt? Q : Can you play Clan specific cards (eg Malk Prank) if you have one of those vampires in torpor? Q : With the Hunting grounds - you need a specific clan to bring them out, fine, but do they only work *for* that clan, or can my other Vampires use them? Again, what is considered "ready" for the purposes of this (In "The Eternal Struggle" it says that, in the untap Phase, one can untap any "ready" vampires.... I would have thought that these guys were "unready") Q : The way we've been playing (especially in terms of the minion phase) is as a Card-react-Card react style of play - i.e I play "Threats", my prey plays "misdirection", I play next, and so on... Is it possible (or even legal) to play two actions (for example, Cloak The Gathering and then threats) in one go?. Q : When coming across for a bleed, we play that any "excess" bleed cards (threats, conditioning, etc.) must be declared before the prey makes the choice as to whether or not to block - is this correct, or can you hide this card, and when your prey says - O.K - Bleed me - you snap out the bleed modifier and watch Him/Her/It suffer ? Q : With bleeds, I always just used to declare "X minions are coming to get you" - since reading Eternal STruggle it's clear that I can send them across one by one. Fine. What happens when my vampire gets through for the bleed? Can I send more Vampires across, or does that end all of my bleed actions? (The way I read the rules, once my first Vamp gets through that's it.....) Q : I just picked up a Thaddeus Zho - Mage ally and i'm confused. If he goes across with my tremere of choice, can he elect to steal blood from a different Vampire other than the one blocking me? Does he act separately in combat, or in unison? (i.e if he maneuvers to long range does this stick my Vamp to long range?) Q : How many of each clan are in the game ? Sorry for the large number of questions - just a fair amount of confusion... If there are no more bloods to lose, the vamp is burned. Therefore, if a vamp takes total blood + 2 aggro, it is burned. > Q : Can you play Clan specific cards (eg Malk Prank) if you have > one of those vampires in torpor? > no. the vamp must be ready, by the above definition. > Q : With the Hunting grounds - you need a specific clan to bring them out, > fine, but do they only work *for* that clan, or can my > other Vampires use them? Even torpored ones, except paralyzed ones (ring of rowan or stake effects) The one blood from HGs can go to any vamp, but you need one of that clan ready to bring it out. > Q : The way we've been playing (especially in terms of the minion phase) > is as a Card-react-Card react style of play - i.e I play "Threats", > my prey plays "misdirection", I play next, and so on... Then play action modifiers/reaction cards as you like it. The only exception is that you can't throw a ton of intercept (i think) to empty out your hand. > Q : When coming across for a bleed, we play that any "excess" bleed cards > (threats, conditioning, etc.) must be declared before the prey makes > the choice as to whether or not to block - is this correct, or can > you hide this card, and when your prey says - O.K - Bleed me - you > snap out the bleed modifier and watch Him/Her/It suffer ? > Action modifier cards can be played after prey fails to block. Allies act independently, like any other vampire. together allies and vamps are known as minions. > > Q : How many of each clan are in the game ? > 15 per clan, 6 caitiff > Sorry for the large number of questions - just a fair amount of confusion... > > Darkness > > > eric esli...@rudolf.nscl.msu.edu )____( ( oo ) /-----(..) * | | moo +||-|| ~~ ~~

I think the blood from Hunting Grounds can only go to a ready vampire; it cannot go to a vampire in torpor. papillo the conservative

Excellent answers all, Eric! Just a clarification on this one though, as I think Diana was asking a slightly different question than you were answering... If a vampire gets through unblocked (on a Bleed action, let's say) then you successfully Bleed your opponent and gain the Edge. That minion's action is now over. You may now perform another action with another minion - any action you are legally allowed to do or have a card for, INCLUDING BLEEDING. Your Prey may choose to block this one even though they let the last one through - it is a totally separate action. Hope that answers the question I thought you were asking... :-) Shane Travis | There are two kinds of men who never amount to sht...@duke.usask.ca | very much: those who cannot do what they are told, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan | and those who can do nothing else. | -- Cyrus H.K.
