I think this has been covered before, but can someone please reply clearly and concisely so I can print it out and keep for reference? If someone is playing Jacko who his equipped with the Sword of Judgement, then when he uses the Sword to strike, he can then gain two additional strikes, one for the sword, and one for his own ability, correct? Is he then permitted to play a card offering additional strikes, such as Blur or Acrobatics? Could he also then play Quickness at superior for yet another additional strike? In regards to the use of the card Lightning Reflexes, I assume that at superior you must pay one blood for the card, and then an additional one blood for one strike, two blood for two strikes, three blood for three strikes and so on, correct? You can actually gain 2 additional strikes for 1 blood via Blur, so I guess the card is only effective for gaining three or more additional strikes... Thanks in advance for your comments. Correct (on the first round of combat), since his inherent ability is explicitly not counted against the one addition-strike-gaining-effect per round limit. > Is he then permitted to play a card offering additional strikes, such > as Blur or Acrobatics? No, since he has already gained an additional strike from the Sword (and is limited to one additional-strike-gaining effect per round). If he chose not to use the (optional) additional strike from the Sword, he could play Blur, for example, after his inherent additional strike on the first round. > Could he also then play Quickness at superior for yet > another additional strike? Yes, since superior Quickness is explicitly not counted against the one additional-strike-gaining-effect per round limit. > In regards to the use of the card Lightning Reflexes, I assume that at > superior you must pay one blood for the card, and then an additional > one blood for one strike, two blood for two strikes, three blood for > three strikes and so on, correct? You must pay the cost of the card in order to play the card, yes. You pay 1 for the card and X for the X additional strikes. > You can actually gain 2 additional strikes for 1 > blood via Blur, so I guess the card is only effective for gaining > three or more additional strikes... It's only more cost effective than Blur at that level, sure. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) VTES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc.
