Okay, say I put DiD on a vamp and it fills up to capacity and is forced to move to the ready region,... then: 1. It was not made ready through DiD text, so it comes out untapped? 2. Descent into Darkness stays on it? (and has no effect while ready because of "face-down vampire" part of text.) 3. When I play another DiD on it, it will gain 4 blood during my influence phase while face down? That all seems straightforward, I just want confirmation. Descent into Darkness Type(s): Action Discipline(s): Obtenebration Blood Cost: 1 Rarity: Common Card Text: +1 stealth action Turn the acting vampire and any cards on him or her face down, out of play (breaking any temporary control affects). Put this card on him or her (in play). During your influence phase, move 2 blood to this face- down vampire from the blood bank, and you can choose to burn this card to return the vampire to play, tapped. As above, but the vampire is untapped when he or she returns to play

[ quoted text not captured ] hi D, It sounds to me like you're misinterpreting how Descent into Darkness works. As far as I know, there is nothing in the text or rulings that forces a vampire who's been filled to capacity by DiD to come into play. The out-of-play Descended vampire can continue to accumulate blood above capacity as long as he or she is out of play - capacity only applies while vampires are in play, and DiD's text doesn't say anything about the vampire automatically coming back into play when full. Maybe you're thinking of the rule that uncontrolled vampires who have blood equal to or greater than capacity automatically enter play at the end of your influence phase? That rule doesn't apply to vampires sent out-of-play by card effects like Descent into Darkness, though - vampires under DiD are not uncontrolled, they're in a separate "out of play" status. So, as far as I know, the answers to your questions are: 1. It doesn't come into play until you bring it back into play by burning DiD. When you do burn DiD, the vampire comes into play tapped or untapped based on whether it played DiD at inferior or superior. 2. No, DiD is always burned when the DiD vampire is returned to play. 3. If it's possible to get two DiDs onto the same vampire at all, it would require some convoluted trickery. :-) If it were possible, though, yes, the vampire with two DiDs would get 4 blood per influence phase. Hope that helps... Josh under a dark rock

What forces it to return to the ready region? DiD in no way forces the vamp back to controlled simply due to being full to capacity > then: > 1. It was not made ready through DiD text, so it comes out untapped? If DiD was played at OBT, the vamp would come out untapped, if at obt, the vamp would be tapped. either way the DiD burns > 2. DiD cannot stay on vamp as it burns to allow va,p to return to ready region, not because vamp at capacity. > 3. Cannot play another DiD as vamp is out of play while under the effect of DiD, so illegal target, as well as being unable to act. > > That all seems straightforward, I just want confirmation. You were trying to come up with a devious scheme of DOOOOM with DiD weren't yah? just admit it ;) [ quoted text not captured ]

[ quoted text not captured ] "are not controlled", you mean. And, yes, like contested cards, they are not "in the uncontrolled region". > So, as far as I know, the answers to your questions are: > > 1. Correct.

Which you can't do, as mentioned, as the DiD vampire isn't actually in your uncontrolled region. (But if you could, then that would explain how he thought you could get the vampire controlled to play another DiD on it) -- salem

Thanks for the responses, I just moved from one incorrect understanding of DiD before today, to another wrong one from my post, to finally grokking this strange card. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grok [ quoted text not captured ]
