Malkavian Dementia

Just a quick question about the viability of the following move. Having played about with the Malkavian Dementia master of late and having annoyed one or two players by using it to steal another methuselah's, using the Parthenon to then play Minion Tap to steal all its blood before handing it back in my next untap phase, I wondered if the following was also allowable. If I use the Malkavian Dementia card to steal the Malkavain for a round. If I then bring out the same vampire in my influence stage and thus make it contested can I then choose in my next untap phase to toss their Malkavian into the ash heap as I decided to forfeit the contest, prior to handing it back to them (and thus to their ash heap?) As far as I know the only thing I need to do in any particular order in the untap phase is to initially untap, after that I can choose the order yes? So I could do the contested vampire bit first, choose to burn their vampire rather than pay the cost for contesting, and then hand it back to them afterwards and thus to their ash heap? Malkavian Dementia - Master * You lose control of that Malkavian when you start your untap phase. This is not an untap effect that you order among your other untap effects; it happens when the phase begins. You do not untap the Malkavian [RTR 19951017] > As far as I know the only thing I need to do in any particular order in the > untap phase is to initially untap, after that I can choose the order yes? You can only yield a contested card during your untap phase, by which time the Dementia has worn off (it only lasts "until" your next untap phase, not "though" your next untap phase). -- LSJ (vte...@wizards.com) V:TES Net.Rep for Wizards of the Coast. I must have missed this one in the errata etc. gah and here I was learning them off by heart for the tournament we had on the weekend too ;P >> As far as I know the only thing I need to do in any particular order in the >> untap phase is to initially untap, after that I can choose the order yes? Or even learn to check the errata better. Glad this one didn't come up during the tournament I judged or I'd look a right fool now ;P [ quoted text not captured ]

Sure it only works on the large vampires, but you get to gain the capacity of the Malkavian and remove them from the game. Not bad. :) Of course if you have the Parthenon, and Rumors of Gehenna or Anson, then you can be really, really, rude when you steal, minion tap and golconda a Malkavian. Rob Grau rfg...@eos.ncsu.edu
