Canceled Action question

I would like to know if a "canceled" action is considered "failed" as well; and how a canceled action interacts with the (cards) effects of others Methuselahs and blocking minions. Say: 1. I'm gonna to block a minion with a vamp awakened via Forced Awakening, but that minion cancels the action playing a Change of target. Does my blocking vamp burns the 1 blood (due to FA effect), or a "canceled" action cancels any other effect involved in it? 2. A tapped vamps plays a Force of Will. The card is then burned (canceled?) by a Direct Intervention. Does that vamp still takes the (1 or 2) aggravated damage from the FoW? (the action is burned/canceled, yes, but is it still a "failed" action for the purpose of FoW's text ?). The matter seems a bit complicated to me, and i know that the examples above are by no means exhaustives, so any other valid example about the matter is welcome. Thanks. Aemilianus, Prince of Rome. Change of Target can only be played after a block (card text), which means that the Awakened vampire hasn't "failed to block", and so doesn't burn a blood. > 2. A tapped vamps plays a Force of Will. > The card is then burned (canceled?) by a Direct Intervention. Direct Intervention cancels the card altogether - before the action is even begun. None of the card text on the canceled card applies (although the card is still considered to have been played, if other effects care about such things - cf. Ancient Influence and Infernal Familiar). > Does that vamp still takes the (1 or 2) aggravated damage from the > FoW? No. In this case, the action never happens. > The matter seems a bit complicated to me, and i know that the examples > above are by no means exhaustives, > so any other valid example about the matter is welcome. Delaying Tactics cancels a Political Action, but doesn't make it so that the action never happened. Since it can only be played during the Referendum phase of the action, the action itself must've reached the resolution phase, which means that the acting minion is restricted by the "No Repeat Actions" rule, if it is being used.
