Ousting & Control of Minion Cards - LSJ?

Hi All! Just a quick question - if you gain control of another Methuselah's minion card which remains on a minion still under the control of that Methuselah, what happens to it when that Methuselah is ousted? according to the rulebook, if a Methuselah is ousted, "Any of [the ousted Methuselah's] cards that other players control remain until the controlling players are ousted." (1.3) Does the controlling Methuselah get to place the card on any of his minion he chooses, or does it just float about on the table in 'card limbo', controlled but not attached to any minion? Example: if you gained control of a Nosferatu's Patagia Flaps card (e.g. through trading with the Succubus Club, which transfers card controllership but leaves the card on the original minion controlled by the other methuselah [LSJ 19980128]) and then that minion's controlling methuselah was ousted whilst that minion and card were still in play, could you then place the flaps on any of your minions instantly? If this is so, I presume that they do not have to meet the requirements for playing the card (similarly to if equipment is stolen or a location is gained by Disputed Territory etc)?
