Greetings All, This is far from scientific, but I thought I would post the rarity breakdown on the box of Sabbat War that I bought. Here goes: # of Vampires per pack (36 packs total): 2 packs with only 1 vampires 16 packs with 2 vampires 3 packs with 3 vampires 15 packs with 4 vampires Total cards and rarities: (I had to make a number of assumptions here: The top card in every booster is rare. The next 4 cards are the uncommon slots. They should hold 3 uncommon cards and 1 vampire. The last 6 cards are the common slots. They should hold 1 vampire and 5 commons.) 36 rare cards 73 uncommon cards 182 common cards 71 uncommon vampires 34 common vampires 396 total cards # of doubles 0 rare doubles 21 uncommon doubles 17 uncommon vampire doubles 70 common doubles 14 common vampire doubles 122 total doubles # of triples 0 rare triples 1 uncommon triples 2 uncommon vampire triples 14 common triples 2 common vampire triples 19 total triples Distinct cards: 36 rare cards 50 uncommon cards 44 uncommon vampires 84 common cards 16 common vampires 230 total distinct cards At first I was disapointed with getting 31 extra vampires in my box instead of uncommon cards, but after looking at everything it seems like things were pretty well balanced. Also, it possible that I would have just gotten more repeats on uncommon cards (it looks like there's a U3 and U1 distribution, with any hunting grounds being U3 - I got a bunch of doubles here), so perhaps getting the extra vamps wasn't so bad (with the 4 starter decks that I got I almost have all the vampires). Finally, it also looks like there are a number of commons that were printed in the starters but aren't in the boosters (though the skill cards aren't one of those =), and since I doubled up on every common I'm lead to believe that the commons I got in the box represent all the commons in the set, but I'll have to take a closer look at my lists before I'll know for sure. I'm not sure if this is useful to anyone, but I wanted to see just how bad the printing distribution got messed up. Right now (atleast until I get a full list that shows what reprints are actually in the set) I'm pretty pleased. > At first I was disapointed with getting 31 extra vampires With all of the vamps I got, I ended up with between 4 and 6 copies of each after just 2 boxes. I cannot express enough how sick and tired I am of seeing (Peter?) Blaine. Above the 2 boxes, I bought 10 starters and 4 of them had Blaine in them. wtf?!? In article <UPZN5.15611$mC.9...@monger.newsread.com>, [ quoted text not captured ] I haven't gotten him. I just got my cards (8 starters and 12 boosters) so you're wlecome to send him to me ;) I had pretty bad luck with the rare sin the booster, in almost all of them, the rares I got were reprints and 3 of them were Crusades (all reprints), sigh. Just to make it clear (because it's not above), I got a total of *10* copies of Peter Blaine after 2 boxes and 10 boosters. Just how common is this guy? Peter Blaine and Mercy, Knight Inquisitor both seem to be. . . "Common" cards? People seem to get just too many of them (so far as I've talked to, 3 or 4 people, and now add one more on the Too Many Blaines.) -- Pat Ricochet Soul Jar'rn Fool of Atlanta

In article <B62DDBE5.5F1%sp...@socrates.gatech.edu>, [ quoted text not captured ] "Blaine is a pain" --- Stephen King Every set has its way-too-common-and-not-really-useful cards. I guess it's the price to pay to get those really-useful-and-always-too-rare- "uncommons"... ;) How many of us bought tons of Jyhad-VTES wallpaper cards just in order to get the few Taste of Vitaes, Torn Signposts, and other Uncommons which seem to beat the rarity odds (I recently bought a box of Jyhad in the hope to get a few tastes and signposts but came up empty-handed... I do have an overflow of the useless stuff though... Andrei Rublev --- The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist. [ quoted text not captured ]

People seem to get just too many of them (so far as I've talked to, > 3 or 4 people, and now add one more on the Too Many Blaines.) I suspect your statement is correct. This may be the error of the manufacturer which caused the vampires not to come out to the two-per- pack LSJ and Steve Wieck were expecting. From my observation, the common slot vampires seem to be just common rarity cards. I'm not sure yet about the uncommon slot vampires (these appear to be a completely disjoint set from the ones that appear in the common slots), but they may well be just plain uncommon rarity cards. They are. The rarities for the vampires (Common or Uncommon) are now available on the White Wolf web page. Each pack was supposed to have 6 commons (1 vamp and 5 library), 4 uncommon (2 vamp and 2 library) and 1 rare (a library card). While the rarities are preserved (6/4/1), the occurance of the vampires can be 0,1, or 2 common and between 0 and 4 uncommon. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc.
