Why are the Clans uneven

Why do some clans get more vampires then others? In Sabbat War the Brujah get 14 vampires; the Gangrel get 10 Vampires; The Lasombra and the Tzimisce get 15 Vampires; the Malkavian, the Nosferatu, and the Toreador get 9 Vampires; and the Ventrue get 13 Vampires. What if a person wants to play a Nosferatu deck? Unless he or she uses doubles of some Vampires the only way to get a full Crypt is to use Vampires from other clans. In the original Sabbat set there were 11 of each clan, including 11 Pander. They also had room for 11 Tremere Antitribu. I appreciate Whit Wolf's efforts to revive V:TES but I really wish they would do a better job of organizing the card sets. Michael

[ quoted text not captured ] Please indicate which cards you think should have been dropped from the Sabbat War set in order to accomodate the cards you think should've been put in. And please remember to distinguish between Nosferatu and Nosferatu antitribu. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. I don't know which cards should be dropped exactly. I was only able to get two starter decks before Sabbat War sold out (please reprint it, please, please, please). Somehow Wizards were able to fit in the !Tremere in Sabbat, so how come they couldn't fit in Sabbat War? Maybe in Final Nights you could have left out the Camarilla Vampires and put in 7 more !Tremere (to bring the total to 9 in Final Nights). Unfortunately, the !Tremere would still be seriously lacking in Thaumaturgy cards. > > And please remember to distinguish between Nosferatu and Nosferatu antitribu. > As I was talking about the Sabbat War set I thought it was obvious I was talking about antitribu Vampires. Since it seems it wasn't obvious I'll remember to put the ! things in, for antitribu Vampires, all the time from now on. > -- > LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. > Links to revised rulebook, rulings, errata, and tournament rules: > http://www.white-wolf.com/vtes/ Michael

WotC has a higher margin and printed more cards in the Sabbat set than are in the Sabbat War set (not counting the pre-cons). It is this higher margin, in fact, that kept any more sets from being printed by WotC, AIUI. Attempting to replicate WotC's approach to the game is probably not the best way to go. Sabbat: Lots of cards Sabbat War: Some of the cards from Sabbat, some of the cards from older sets, some brand new cards Something had to be removed from Sabbat War to make way for the older reprints (to make it a viable set for newbies to start with) and the new cards. -- James Coupe PGP Key: 0x5D623D5D Close your eyes so you don't feel them EBD690ECD7A1F They don't need to see you cry B457CA213D7E6 I can't promise I will heal you, but if you want to I will try 68C3695D623D5D

[ quoted text not captured ] This seems a strange conclusion as there are 21 Thaumaturgy cards, as well as: 18 Dementation 18 Obtenebration 21 Presence 21 Quietus 21 Serpentis 18 Vicissitude So, I think there are "plenty" of Thaumaturgy cards. Maybe you meant !Tremere clan cards? They have 6, which is only 1 or 2 less than most of the other "antitribu" clans. Nephandus, Succubus, and Infernal Pact by themselves almost make up for this, IMHO. > > > > > And please remember to distinguish between Nosferatu and Nosferatu antitribu. > > > > As I was talking about the Sabbat War set I thought it was obvious I was > talking about antitribu Vampires. You'll notice that the clans which have the most vampires in Sabbat War are those featured in the preconstructed decks. It's that simple, really. Madman

Complacency... Catastrophe!" -- Joseph Chevalier There are 21 Thaumaturgy cards in Final Nights? I guess !Tremere could just use old Thaumaturgy cards. How many new ones are in Final Nights? I would just like to see some new Thaumaturgy cards written with !Tremere in mind. Which is why I would have liked to use Sabbat War Thaumaturgy cards instead of Final Nights and V:TES Thaumaturgy cards. I guess I could hunt down all the Thaumaturgy cards that were in Sabbat. It still would have been nice to see some new Thaumaturgy cards for !Tremere. Michael
