I bought a starter and a booster of Jyhad the other
day and started to read the rule book. Three main
questions came to mind. First the rulebook tells
about the cost to use cards as being on the right
side of the card, however the costage is on the
left below the name on all of the cards.
Second, how come some of the vampire cards not
vampires like "Reversal of Fortunes." Third, is
there a commonality to the vampires or are my chances
of getting one the same as getting another.
Some other wonderings of mine "Is there a price
list for Jyhad cards, I have the listing in "The
Duelist," but not a price guide?" "Is the game
designed to be a one on one or a multi-person (I
think it's multi-person)?" "Are there rules for
teams like Magic or is it considered that the
Methusalahs(sp?) are such bitter enemies that they
would not join forces?" "What about a four way? With
two on a team, being brothers or sisters (or a mix)?
Would they sit like this
1
2 2
1
When one player dies then the killing predetor's prey
becomes the person on the right. Just a thought."
Also what are the major types of decks (ie. political,
weapons, bleeding cards, vampires with loaded skills)?
And what are some of the more used combos.
Being an experienced Magic player I think I will be able
to pick up on Jyhad easly. So thanks for your help and
advice in advance.

This is because we noticed at the last moment that if the costs and such
were on the right side of the card, you couldn't see those if you fanned
your cards they way most people do. So we swapped them to the other side,
but this change didn't make it into the rulebook.

All vampires have the same commonality. As for having political cards on
the vampire sheet... note that there are 121 positions on each card sheet.
Right now there are 15 vampires in each clan and 6 Caitiff, for
7 * 15 + 6 = 111 vampires. Given that we want the same number of vampires
in each clan, having 121 vampires would have meant 8 vampires in each
clan and 1 Caitiff (which is not what we wanted), or 7 vampires in each clan
and 16 Caitiff, which would be pretty silly.

Jyhad was designed from the start to be multiplayer, though it can be
played with just 2 people (most games wind down to that mode anyway...)
While I'm sure team variants for Jyhad exist, none have been printed
in the Duelist or anything.
