Hello everyone, In last night's game, the following situation occured : Tobias Smith attempts to diablerize. Gustavo Morales wakes and attempts to block. Tobias Smith plays tenebrous form superior : Gustavo burns a blood to attempt to block, and gains intercept somehow : the action is blocked. In combat, Tobias plays Shadow Body (combat ends and the action continue). Gustavo is still under the effect of his wake : must he burn another blood to attempt to block Tobias again ? We ruled that he had to burn a blood again. Was it correct ? Tenebrous Form Type: Action Modifier Requires: Obtenebration Cost: 1 blood [obt] +1 stealth. [OBT] As above, and minions without Obtenebration must pay 1 blood to attempt to block. Thank you, François

Card text would have to be "burn a blood to be able to attempt to block for the remainder of the action" otherwise, as in Helena's text. -- That is my story, be it bitter or be it sweet. Keep a little and let a little come back to me. LSJ (vtesr...@TRAPwhite-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep (remove spam trap to reply) http://www.white-wolf.com/vtes/

Hey guys, Wow !Now there's a confusing answer (at least to me) supposing card text were indeed : "Type: Action Modifier Requires: Obtenebration Cost: 1 blood [obt] +1 stealth. [OBT] As above, and minions without Obtenebration must pay 1 blood to attempt to block for the remainder of the action" and he burned this 1 blood at the first attempt to block, then, after the Shadow body, we'd still be discussing the same action, right? And now, he's allowed to attempt to block for the remainder of the action, right? Yet,when the question was: "We ruled he had to burn a blood again. was it correct?" you're answer's "yes"? Is it just me as a non-native english speaking person,or does that not make as much sense as I'd want it to? /jo BTW: best wishes for 2006 y'all, hope to see more of you then last year

[ quoted text not captured ] Hi Wolflord! You only need to burn 1 blood for Tenebrous Form at superior due to the wording "to attempt to block for the remainder of the action". Cheers James

Aha! glad to know I'm not crazy after all.. :-) /jo

Unless your previous burn blood effect gives you the ability to block for the duration of the action, its just a payment for a one-time benefit. DaveZ Atom Weaver
