Hello LSJ, I feel like this question has been asked before, but I couldn't find it. Let's say I corrupt Smudge, the Ignored from my prey, and now I control him. Then I oust my prey. Then Smudge is burned. 1) Does Smudge end up in my ash heap, or removed from game (and returned to my prey)? 2) If the answer to #1 is "removed from game," is Smudge actually burned, then removed from game, or just directly removed from the game instead? I think #1 is Removed from Game, but I'm not sure why. This was the closest I could find: 1.3. Golden Rule of Card Ownership Your cards are never transferred to another player permanently as a result of card play. At the end of the game, the cards you began the game with are returned to you. If you are ousted before the end of the game, any of your cards that other players control remain in play until burned as normal. Thanks, Ira

[ quoted text not captured ] IANLSJ, but it is my opinion that Smudge is controlled by you, and would be placed in your ash heap until his state changes, or the game ends. In either case, at the end of the game, or when you are ousted, you return him to the original controller.

Yes. #2 is "burned", since you say that he was burned in the set up to the question. He then goes to his owner's ash heap (as all burned cards do). And, since his owner isn't in the game, his owner's ash heap is effectively a "removed from the game" area. For control returning to an ousted Methuselah (a more common question), see http://groups.google.com/group/rec.games.trading-cards.jyhad/msg/898cc14273f74599

However, could the same smudge be Daemonic possessioned if it was under my preds control when it was burnt?

LSJ

[ quoted text not captured ] No, since the reach of Daemonic Possession doesn't extend beyond the game. (Indeed, no game effect extends beyond the game.)

[ quoted text not captured ] See 9.1. Victory Points: When a Methuselah runs out of pool counters, she is ousted from the game. If you are ousted, all the cards you control are removed from the game.[...] Regards, Hardy

Chris Berger

[ quoted text not captured ] Key phrase "all cards you control". So it doesn't address Ira's question.

[ quoted text not captured ] At first I thought you were telling me, "do not post from work" and I was wondering how you knew I was at work and if you were my boss...
