Ok, we have managed to ascertain that the cards don't tap when reacting, but do they have to be untapped to react? ******************************************************************** Sent via The Digital Underground. 415.326.5313 info@dunder.com ********************************************************************

You must have an untapped vampire to use a reactoin card, and if the card requires a discipline, then the untapped vampire in question must have that discipline (just like any other time you use a discipline card). Unless, presumably, you have a reaction card which says, "Usable by a tapped vampire." Right? (Examples: The Second Tradition: Domain, and Wake with Evening's Freshness.) (The second one actually says usable *only* by a tapped vampire.) Rollie

Right? Every rules statement has an "unless a card says otherwise" attached to it, whether I bother to say that outright or not. So, yes, WweF allows a vampire to reaction cards while tapped, because the card breaks the rules. >(Examples: The Second Tradition: Domain... For the record, this does allow the vampire to untap and block. We went back and forth with this yesterday, since I still think that by a strict literal reading the vampire would have to find some other way to untap in block in order to use the Tradition, but the ruling was that it acts more or less like a super Rat's Warning. I think this one falls into the same category as Clockwork Beast, namely, cards that say one thing but really suck if taken literally so are played as if they said something else.
