This one came up with my Ravnos deck. I play an Illusions of the Kindred and the card whose name escapes me completely to get a weapon (Chimestry, not disguised weapon), use my flamethrower, and then play an amaranth. Bloodhunt is called and my vampire is burned. Do both Vampire and weapon go to my ash heap cos of the successful bloodhunt, or is the vampire removed from play and the weapon shuffled back in to my library as per card text. Also what if the weapon is stolen or destroyed during the combat? Does it still get shuffled back in or does it stay where it is, either in ash heap or belonging to someone else? I'd like to use necromancy if I can to bring the vampire out again after the illusions combat. Ta. Matt -- "We're all mad, you see. I'm mad, you're mad, we're all of us quite insane. Who wouldn't be, after all this time doing this crap?" "Why do you think I'm mad?" "Why, of course you're mad. If you weren't mad, you wouldn't be here." - Jack L Chalker, "The Hot-Wired Dodo"

Horrid Reality is the card. You will "Remove the vampire from the game at the end of combat." This will include when the combat ends by either vampire being burned. There is no opportunity for a Bloodhunt on a vampire summoned by Illusions of the Kindred because it is removed from the game as soon as the combat is over, and the combat is over as soon as you play the Amaranth. > Also what if the weapon is stolen or destroyed during the combat? LSJ [06-20-2000] already did this one here: http://www.deja.com/getdoc.xp?AN=636887087 "> If I play horrid reality and draw a gun, and the vampire I'm in > combat with plays steal equipment with FS. Where does the equipment > go after combat. Back in the library or to the vampire controlling > the equipment? If you played Horrid Reality at superior: Back in your library, if the weapon is still in play. If you played Horrid Reality at inferior: To your ash heap." > Does it still get shuffled back in or does it stay where it is, > either in ash heap or belonging to someone else? See quote above. > I'd like to use necromancy if I can to bring the vampire out again > after the illusions combat. Sorry, not going to happen. The Illusionary vampire (card) is removed from the game, and is not able to rejoin the game. (per card text) Carpe Noctem. For most intents and purposes, true. However: When you play Amaranth, combat does not end when it is played - but when it resolves. There is still a chance, as with all minion cards, to play Direct Intervention, so combat doesn't end immediately, necessarily. -- James Coupe | PGP Key 0x5D623D5D | ja...@zephyr.org.uk (New e-mail) "Who'd have ever predicted the moment would come when I find myself grateful they've kept women dumb? If I use Illusions, then horrid reality, and get a soul gem, and I manage to get my vamp burned in the combat, does the soul gem get triggered? Or does combat end and the soul gem get returned to my deck before it has a chance to go off? It would be very hard to get to work, but it could be fun. [ quoted text not captured ]

Horrid Reality won't pull the Soul Gem - it only pulls weapons. [RTR 12-JAN-1996] [ quoted text not captured ]

How about this. Illusions, draw Konstantin. Strike Blessing of Durga Syn to steal the Soul Gem. Undead Persistence. Burned. Sound a little more likely? Yes. If he is burned in combat, the Soul Gem kicks in before he is removed from the game. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) VTES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc.
