Succulent Vitae:
Only usable when a hunt action is successful. Place this card on this
acting vampire. When this vampire plays a card that requires Quietus,
he or she may burn this card to reduce the cost of that card by 1
blood.
Loss:
Blood Cost: 1
[qui] (D) Burn an equipment or location on a minion controlled by your
predator or prey.
[QUI] (D) Bleed at +2 bleed.
Rulebook (Lords of the Night) 6.2.3
"If the action is successful (all block attempts were unsuccessful),
then the cost of the action is paid..."
On a Loss bleed, I want to burn SV to reduce the cost of Loss.
Playing an action card, and paying it's cost happen at different
times. At which of these times do I burn SV - as I play Loss, or when
I pay the blood cost of Loss?
If the former, does Loss un-burn (to be usable in combat) if the
action is blocked (like Strike with Conviction), or is it just gone?

Card text: "When this vampire *plays* a card that requires Quietus".
So, when the vampire plays the card.

Just gone.
Strike with Conviction doesn't un-burn if the action is blocked. It instead
isn't burned until later, when the action resolves unblocked.

And by "does Loss un-burn" I assume we're all actually talking about
Succulent Vitae, right?
