You can't get into combat with a vampire in torpor, however.

The best thing against vampires who like to bleed a lot and not go in combat is Gangrel. 1. You put up to 3 Raven Spies in your deck. Don't put any Sports Bike if you can. The reason is you can put more than 1 Raven Spy on the same vampire (you can't put more than 1 Sports bike on a vampire). 2. You put 1 Mr. Wintrop 3. You put 1 KRCG News Radio 4. You put 3 Cats Guidance (Sup. Skill is +1 Intercept). With that, you'll intercept everything you want. But when you enter combat, you better make a aggravated damage to put him in torpor and Diabolize the vampire with Amaranth. So you need in you deck a Gangrel Justicar card with some Praxis Seizures to be sure the Blood Hunt will be lost. Make a deck with that, and put other cards that will a make strategy deck of your choice... See ya! Martin Filion Montreal, Qb (Canada) mordillo@gmgate@gamemaster.qc.ca

: I agree that gangrels rock in combat, but they don't diablarize very : well. They are infact the worst clan for voting. What you want to do : with a gangrel deck is either try to burn them instead of sending them to : torpor or put some caitiffs in your deck for diablarizing cause you won't : win any bloodhunt votes. Aye I do all my diablerizing with wimps anyway. BTW can Illegal Search and Seizure be blocked somehow? It's annoying getting your Talbot's Chainsaw or your Flamethrower or assault rifle put down :( Also, can a bloodhunt be called later after the diablerie? i.e. my caitiff dia's his Lucretia (hee) and on his turn he uses a justicar card. can he call a bloodhunt now? What do y'all think of a nos/mal deck? Thanks some more :) -Gabe

Don't worry, The BloodHunt is never won when I diabolize vampires. [ quoted text not captured ]

Ummm... to whoever said it...you CANNOT put more than one of any single retainer on any vamp.... therefore limit one raven spy per vamp (can you imagine a vamp with 4 wolf companions and 4 murder of crows??) I actually called WoTC on that, and they confirmed it. It makes sense :'> David Leader -This post has a press on it, only usable to sell life insurance.

There's no reason I can think of (and none in any of the rules listings I have) that non-unique retainers should be limited. If a vampire cares to spend 8 turns' worth of actions acquiring his 4 wolf companions and his 4 murders of crows, let him. ;-) I'll probably have bled him to death by then anyway. ;-) papillo the inconsequential

And don't get the idea that I'm doubting your veracity, but until we see that ruling in some sort of official form (as an answer from the Netrep on jyhad-l or from Tom, or in a DTR summary) then IMHO it is just a house rule you play by. Official rule is that there is no limit to the number of retainers of the same type that can go on one vampire. Period. Wouldn't mind seeing it change (officially) but it hasn't yet. Thanks for posting your soirce though so that people can assess what you said, rather than just saying, "That's not what WotC says! You can't do that, and it's official! [ quoted text not captured ] Also, consider if the opponent cycled through 40 cards in 8 turns. That means 8 retainers in 40 cards, or 20% retainers in a Library. Sounds like a lot ... And he probably has to hunt for the blood to play all those retainers ... -- "Live Life with Heart." Alan Kwan kw...@cs.cornell.edu

(Easier to imagine, even, than a vamp running around with 4 flak jackets :-) Probably draw lots of attention, but so would a lone wolf, eh? The source you talked to on the phone was mistaken, IMHO.

So, while you can't call an official bloodhunt after the fact, you can still hose the diablarizing vampire. Cheers, Brian Tandy

You can stack as many copies of a retainer or piece of equipment onto a single minion as you want. If the retainer/equipment is unique, then all the copies will be contested, but you can still give them to the minion. [ quoted text not captured ] Peace Brian, I read Gabriel's post as: other player plays Nosferatu Justicar vote card, becomes Justicar and tries to call bloodhunt. It is too late by that point. Yes, any player with a Prince/Justicar could play The Sixth Tradition during their next turn to burn the Caitiff. [ quoted text not captured ]

To the best of my knowledge, a blood hunt has to be called immediatly after the diablarie occures. If not, then it is automatically success.

Aye thank ye all for your help! It cleared it up for me, maybe someday I can return the favor! (hehe not very likely considering my level of understanding) -Gabe
