So I awoke one morning from unsettling dreams, and found myself transformed into a monsterous vermin... Oh, wait, never mind. So anyways, if I have The Path of Metamorphosis in play, do I still have to pay the one blood to use Chiropterian Marrauder as an aggro hit? I know that Inner Essence doesn't work so well for this--does the Path suffer for the same reasons? Arpeges

it doesn't work, you have to burn your blood. Arpeges [ quoted text not captured ]

Chiropteran Marauder is played - costing no blood - and then the ability it grants requires you to burn a blood. The latter ability is not the playing of a card. -- James Coupe PGP Key: 0x5D623D5D EBD690ECD7A1FB457CA2 Hi! I'm Nancy Drew! You must be the Hardy Boys! 13D7E668C3695D623D5D

That is what I figured, but the wording on Path is "vampires burn one less blood when playing cards...". It doesn't reference cost or paying. Just burning one less blood. As you have to burn one blood to use Chiropterian at superior, I figured it might work. [ quoted text not captured ]

Ah, but the blood from superior Chiropteran isn't burned when you *play* the card. You just get an effect that you can use. [ quoted text not captured ]

Card just says the vampire 'can' burn a blood... Not must...

You can freely play Chiroptean Marauder at superior and not burn a blood for agg hand damage in order to just cycle. Halcyan 2

You burn 1 blood to get the benefit of aggravated damage as allowed by the play of Chiropteran Maruader at superior. You burn no blood "when playing" CM, so the Path won't reduce it. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc.
