I just started playing the game and I really enjoy, its much more complex than Magic, but I have two questions, who is considered a member of the inner circle? and whats a good make up of a deck if you want to have a competitive game? I primarily play with with wife and friends who do not buy the cards but use mine, and I want to make it an interesting game. Is there a good number of masters, reactions, etc. that would be good? If you have enough cards - make nine decks. Three each of Bleed, Combat, and Voting. (various styles of each) (More on each of the three strategies in an article by curt adams, which has been archived in http://131.194.137.10/~mlangsdo/RPGs/Jyhad/Strategy.html Those without web access: e-mail me (sjoh...@math.sc.edu) and I'll e-mail you a copy). Then have everyone choose a deck randomly. In a generic deck, I would suggest 1/7 Master cards. The typical makeup of a deck is not a useful concept. MtG can work with "1/3 land, 1/3 creatures, 1/3 Enchanments and Instants", but Jyhad isn't so easy to disect (not that such a MtG deck would win any tourneys, just that it's a workable mix in general). -- ----- L. Inner Circle members are those vampires marked as such from the Dark Sovereigns expansion. In the Vampire RPG, the Inner Circle is the elite ruling council of the Camarilla. and whats a good make #up of a deck if you want to have a competitive game? try using a 4 card limit and see what fun Jyhad can really be. However, if you stick around I'm sure you'll see that my opinion on the 4CL is in the minority in this newsgroup.... I primarily #play with with wife and friends who do not buy the cards but use #mine, and I want to make it an interesting game. Is there a good #number of masters, reactions, etc. that would be good? # Steve I would recommend that if your master cards are approaching 20% of the cards in your deck you may want to cut back on them a bit. Intercept cards are always good to have. Try to get a balance of options, but try not to do more than 3 or 4 things with the Deck, ie- use only 2 or 3 disciplines as your mainstay. Hope this helps a little. -- Greg Zuvich |gzu...@symantec.com

However, if you Or, for a really great time, use a 1-card limit. :-/ (zero-card would theoretically be Nirvana, which is why you see so many monks meditating about their next action :-). (Where does this magic number four come from anyhow?) (Answers of "from MtG" gleefully ignored, since this is *not* MtG :-) As long as we're grabbing limits from thin air, why not have a maximum of ten Master cards in your library, or a minimum of two Justicars in your crypt?
