Well 10 players gathered on a sunny day in Bath at The Rummer, a smaller venue than before, but very nice. They were S Marsh (me) playing Assamite P Reid-Bowen playing True Brujah J McClellan playing Malkavians M McClellan playing Lasombra S Newbury playing Tzimisce E Robinson playing Brujah S Sidhu playing Malkavian with one Lambach H Angseeing playing Tzimisce with Lambach N Sehmi playing Brujah A Coleman playing Salubri Round 1 Table 1 S Sidhu bleeding J McClellan bleeding S Marsh bleeding E Robinson bleeding M McClellan This was a game of BIG bleeds, with deflection, with the entire game being over in 45 minutes, with Sid Sidhu and Michael McClellan bleeding for six repeatedly. Sid Sidhu 5 vps and the table win. Table 2 H Angseeing bleeding A Coleman bleeding N Sehmi bleeding P Reid-Bowen bleeding S Newbury. This table used some of the stars of the storyline, here we saw Lambach, being Pentex Subversioned, which was burnt by The Rose, Lambach also blocked Volkers call for Anathema. Jaroslav also appeared, he was Giants Blooded, burnt Krassimir with Anathema and diablerized Velya the Flayer. This game timed out, so the vps after Paul removed Sarah, and Hugh removed Anthony were Hugh 1.5 vps, Paul 1.5 vps, and Nik with 0.5vps. Round 2 Table 1 S Newbury bleeding S Sidhu bleeding P Reid Bowen bleeding N Sehmi bleeding J McClellan. In this game Sids sweep preceeded him, and most of the table turned against him, however the balance was destroyed and James fell to Nik, which left Sarah to pick up all of the remaining pieces. Sarah Newbury 4 vps and table win, Nik with 1 vp. Table 2 M McClellan bleeding H Angseeing bleeding E Robinson bleeding S Marsh bleeding A Coleman. Lambach again made an appearance, who was rushed by Theo Bell, but neither fell. Again the balance was altered by deflections, with Michael falling to Anthony, there were some calls of Back Stabbing and Deal Breaking against the Assamites, mostly when Matthias was burnt, but it was to no avail. Hugh took the bulk of the points, 3 vps and the table, while Anthony got 2vps. So prefinal the results were Sid Sidhu 1 table 5 vps Hugh Angseeing 1 table 4.5vps Sarah Newbury 1 table 4 vps Anthony Coleman 2 vps Paul Reid Bowen 1.5vps Nik Sehmi 1.5vps The rest of us had 0 vps :( Sarah had to leave, so the tie for fifth wasn't a problem as they both got into the final. Final seating was S Sidhu bleeding Paul Reid-Bowen bleeding A Coleman bleeding N Sehmi bleeding H Angseeing. This game went almost to time, although there were calls for no time limit, still mattered not. We saw the table turn against Sid again, who after a brief struggle was left with 1 minion (of three), and sat slowing bloating, however he did manage to oust Paul very quickly before this, so he looked a threat. The Salubri then turned into Malkavians, who used Madness Network for repeated actions, including Blanche hunting every minion phase. The Brujah managed to get out all three Euro princes, and Theo Bell, who managed to oust the Tzimisce, even with Velya providing some protection. It became an attritional battle between the Salubri and the Brujah, which the Brujah slowly lost as the Salubri prevented damage, and bloated. Nik fell with one minion left, it was down to the Malkavians, and the Salubri (Clan Impersonated Malkavians). Sid who had been very quietly bloating, influenced out three vampires in one turn - all had been short of blood by one point. Anthonys minons tried to do some blocking and damage, but Sid bled for 10 in Anthonys turn due to his own Madness Network, then in Sids turn he finished off Anthony. Sid 3vps and table, Anthony 1vp, Nik 1vp, Hugh and Paul 0vps. The Malkavians take Bath! Prizes were handed out, and everyone went home (mostly) happy. See you all at the next tournament! Sam

Legbiter (J McClellan) gets kudos for playing a Malkavian Dementia on Sid's first vampire (might have been Greger -he had Powerbase Montreal) as soon as it hit the table -unfortunately there wasn't a lot he could do with it at that point and he got ousted before he had a chance to get going. > Round 2 > Table 2 > M McClellan bleeding H Angseeing bleeding E Robinson bleeding S Marsh > bleeding A Coleman. Am I right in thinking that Archon only does 3-round tournaments? I sat next to the Assamites in both rounds with my Brujah and we smashed each other up both times -our fault for not making a deal I suppose: we could probably have smashed the others if we had got our act together as we didn't see any other serious combat. Sid did have some Rotschrecks with disguised weapons -Donnal psyche!d an improvised flamthrower+Rot and threw a gate at it to take the clearly barmy Malk to torpor with him. (what a good ruling that is :) Fatima immediately rushed Theo in the first round so he put her where the sun don't shine (in torpor) and it was war from then on. Fun but not terribly constructive in terms of VPs. > Lambach again made an appearance, who was rushed by Theo Bell, but neither Damn Majesty anyway. > fell. Again the balance was altered by deflections, with Michael falling to > Anthony, there were some calls of Back Stabbing and Deal Breaking against > the Assamites, mostly when Matthias was burnt, but it was to no avail. Hugh > took the bulk of the points, 3 vps and the table, while Anthony got 2vps. Anthony talked his way to 2VP very nicely getting the second for being allowed to withdraw. Sam had agreed not to rush Matthias in exchange for no obstruction to his hunting (he'd been fighting the Brujah again) but attacked and burnt Matthias (nearly full of blood) on the last turn he had agreed not to. (Parnassus did it I think) Anthony was very bitter when the action was announced and then promptly said that he would have broken the deal too. Needless to say, I was thoroughly appalled at such outrageous breaches of ethics! ;-O Bath is HORRIBLE on a Sunday -I should have realised it would be being such a tourist spot and the weather being so fine but I had failed to predict the 40 minute traffic-jam. Thanks for waiting everyone. Still a good day, thanks to Sam and everyone I played.

No such thing as a 2 rounder in the V:EKN tournament world. "V:TES tournaments shall consist of a minimum of three rounds." [VEKN 3.1] [ quoted text not captured ]

Ah that would explain it then. Did you really mean that Archon doesn't have seating charts for 3 rounders though?

LSJ

[ quoted text not captured ] Yes. It only has charts for 4. The three rounders are easy enough to do by hand (at least for the first several criteria), so I've never gotten around to formalizing the charts for them. [ quoted text not captured ]

If you're doing a three round tournament (two rounds + final), just use two of the listed round suggestions from the Archon. I used to simply use Round 1 and Round 2. However, a thread a while back suggested that using Round 1 and Round 3 produces better results. Not sure if it does but I've been using that since. You might want to look up that thread. Halcyan 2

LSJ

[ quoted text not captured ] Neither method produces good results. Sacrifices are made in any two rounds so as to have an optimal set of three rounds. If no third round is pending, better not to make the sacrifices in the two. (For "perfect" arrangements, like 16 and 25, feel free to use two lines of the chart, of course). She was EVER so pleased about this win, which involved a tight tussle with Niki Sehmi at the end. Sid was done in by accident rather than design: i just happened to have a load of Malkavian Dementias early on in the game and i just kept using Sid's minions as he brought them out. Later my Deranges turned up and they were the millstone which brught Niki low, even after i was ousted. Sounds like a great final, and well done Sid on the win!

HELP! I need all of your VEKN numbers to complete the Archon, which is apparently a requirement of Storyline tournaments, anyway I need your numbers as I have all the other details. Cheers Sam

LSJ

[ quoted text not captured ] You can find players' VEKN numbers by searching the player registry: http://206.65.59.246/VTES/member.tpl [ quoted text not captured ]

I haven't been able to use this for a while, but thought it might be being updated, however it has been a month or two, and nothing I try works... Sam [ quoted text not captured ]

This probably means you have a firewall or security application on your desktop which is withholding your HTTP session information. I have to keep Norton Internet Security to be able to see any of WW's interactive pages. It's a pain in the ass, but apparently necessary... :/ Regards, Mike

Will try this evening, although if everyone involved could send me the numbers? Sam > > > Regards, > > Mike > >

Halcyan 2 expounded: [ quoted text not captured ] Not a good plan. You can very easily work out a better second round. For instance there shouldn't have been any need for me to sit next to the same deck in both rounds (which I did) though in a small three round tournament there will always be some people reversing the pred-prey over the course of three rounds (possibly everyone) and this will not always happen in the third round (hence my repeat; and of course Sam's)
