Howdy LSJ, What happens to VD counters when the original player of the Vampiric Disease is ousted? The relevant rules text: [1.3] ...If you are ousted, all the cards you control are burned...Any of your cards that other players control remain until the controlling players are ousted... [1.6.2] ...A master card in play is controlled by the Methuselah who played it by default, even if it is played on a card controlled by another Methuselah... [1.6.3] ...By default, a minion card in play is controlled by the controller of the minion it is on. If a minion card is just in play and not on another controlled card, then it is, by default, controlled by the Methuselah who played it... The problem being that the master card itself was never in play, and the counters, while on minion cards, are not cards themselves, though they do seem to function autonomously (i.e. remembering their rules despite the original VD being in the ash heap). Do the counters 1) burn, 2) continue to function normally, 3) stick around but cease functioning, or 4) none of the above? Thanks, Alex

Howdy Alex! How's your new home? >What happens to VD counters when the original player of the Vampiric >Disease is ousted? >Do the counters 1) burn, 2) continue to function normally, 3) stick >around but cease functioning, or 4) none of the above? They remain. Counters are not burned when the person who played them is ousted. That was the question I thought you asked, actually. I don't think counters have any "controller" - they're just on cards. They burn when the card burns (or when some effect says to burn them). Now Corruption counters have some idea of who played them (so that you can tell "your" counters from other players'), so there may be some hint of control there, but it isn't important, since only the /cards/ you control are burned when you're ousted, according to [1.3]. So the question of control isn't really important at this point. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. Counters do not require a card to be in play for them to function. Choose a controlled vampire; put a disease counter on him or her if he or she does not have one. -""Each time a vampire with a disease counter is in combat at close range with another vampire, the second vampire gets a counter as well-"". Is necesary that the second vampire take damage from the combat to recive a disease conunter ? I think that not but... that愀 all Thanks In advance. A spanish drunken guy :-P

I think that not but... You are correct. All that matters is that the two vampires were in combat at close range together. It doesn't matter if things were Dodged, Combat was Ended, or the two vampires sent each other to torpor. If the two vamps were in combat at close range and one is infected, the other one gets a disease counter as well. Halcyan 2
