The following situation occurred in a game recently: I put Society Of Leopold on my opponent's Anastasia Grey. I then transferred capacity blood to my Anastasia Grey, contesting the vampire. What now happens during each of our turns with regard to the Society and with regards to the contesting of the vampire? Since AG really only represents one entity that we are vying for control over, how does the Society resolve itself? Does it only affect the AG that it is on, or does it affect mine too? And since my opponent cannot take any action with AG, is it impossible for her to get rid of the Society as long as it is contested? rob derrick

Contested vampires are out of play for all intents and purposes other than contesting cards (whether the vampire itself or some equipment/retainer on it). Society of Leopold, Betrayer, Cultivated Blood Shorage, and so on will all stop paying attention to the vampire as long as it remains contested. This means Betrayer will stop doing its damage for the duration. >And since my opponent cannot take any action with AG, >is it impossible for her to get rid of the Society as long >as it is contested? The Society cannot be burned while the vampire is contested (unless its owner is ousted of course) but can be contested as normal. I thought I saw an official post a little while ago (either yours, or in the FAQ) that a minion could burn a contested location (the one that allows another minion to burn it as a (D) action) automatically, since no methuselah would be able to block it. Could you clarify this point, please? (Hopefully just restate that contested cards are out of play for all purposes except as explicitly stated on other cards :-) Thanks.

The original FAQ for Jyhad incorrectly stated that a contested location could be burned. Since the contested location is out of play, it is impossible to burn it. So if the Betrayer gets contested (which means there are at least three of us with the vampire, popular vampire tha one...), then it becomes obvious who it is. If I have a Betrayer out, when do I have to tell you that you don't have to pay the blood? Immediately, or when it comes time for you to pay (by which point there's hopefully more than one contest going.)? | If you've got a hot lead on a new | *--Joe--* | PC game, call the announce line at | jsciv@vt.edu | ** csipga@discus.ise.vt.edu ** | +-------------------------------------+---------------------------------- "Carnivores, oy!" -- Timon, TLK
