Have a question about "First Strike" If a minion is granted First Strike (via Backstab or Blood Agony or is the Muddled Vampire Hunter), if they do aggravated damage with that First Strike, does the opposing minion get a strike that round? If not, do they still declare their strike but it just fizzles? And if the opposing minion has damage prevention (eg Skin of Steel), does their strike come into effect? Also, in the case of Muddles - if he equips with a Wooden Stake, does he strike with the Wooden Stake for 4 points of damage, 3 of which would be aggravated? The Wooden Stake cards says the minion inflicts hand damage as a strike, but I just want to make certain. thanx, Sorrow -- I don't want to be alone | I hurt, therefore I am anymore |-------------------------------- I don't want to be anyone | "What are you looking at...? anymore | you never seen anyone try to I don't need a reason to kill myself | commit suicide before?" - Anon ------------------------------------------------------------------------

If I may jump in: >Have a question about "First Strike" >If a minion is granted First Strike (via Backstab or Blood Agony or is the >Muddled Vampire Hunter), if they do aggravated damage with that First >Strike, does the opposing minion get a strike that round? Yes, Strikes are not resolved until the Strike Resolution. So they would still declare a strike. >If not, do they still declare their strike but it just fizzles? The opposing minion's (vampire's) strike will not resolve if that minion is no longer ready when the time comes for his strike to resolve. In the case of aggravated damage that is unprevented (or normal damage in excess of the vampire's blood, or any damage equal to an Ally's life), then the combat will end during the "First Strike" resolution, before the Normal strike reolution phase. If the damage is prevented, then the opposing minon will still be ready, and combat will continue as normal. (If the opposing minion's strike is "Combat Ends" or "Dodge", then it resolves before the "First Strike" anyhow, so ...) >Also, in the case of Muddles - if he equips with a Wooden Stake, does he >strike with the Wooden Stake for 4 points of damage, 3 of which would be >aggravated? The Wooden Stake cards says the minion inflicts hand damage as >a strike, but I just want to make certain. Yes. 1 normal + 3 agg, all at first strike. -- L.
