Some questions that came up in this weeks league:
Patricia Giovanni's special allows her to
retrieve a retainer from the ash heap and play it
directly on her. Does the retainer have to be one
she can play normally, or can it be any retainer?
I.e. she does not have animalism, but if there is
a Raptor on the heap, she can take it? I say yes
because it is not specifically disallowed by card
text, but there is always the example of the Beast
to remember (can't receive retainers et.al. even
with the Heidelberg).
Short Term Investment: If you have 2 master
phase actions and one pool, can you play a short
term and then pull one off during the same master
phase action without ousting yourself? I said no,
for I felt that you were ousted immediately; the
opposition declared that one was not ousted until
the end of the phase, and at the end of the master
phase, you still have one pool. Fortunately, this
was a hypothetical discussion, but it could come
up.
Thanks!

She can "employ" a retainer from the ash heap (card
text) - so all normal rules for employing apply.

No, because she doesn't have the skill to employ it.

Ousted immediately - where'd that "end of phase" stuff
come from? - it sounds suspiciously like MtG.
