The bottom of the card says "Merrill can change 1 damage each combat he is in from aggravated to normal." So if someone plays a flame thrower against him for 2R aggravated does it do two damage to Merrill but not aggrivated or does it do one aggravated? dred...@umr.edu

Even if Merrill was empty, he simply goes to torpor. The 1 normal damage sends him to torpor. The 1 aggravated damage is redundant; it sends him to torpor again. You always need at least 2 aggravated damage to burn a vampire. papillo the monstruous

Does he take the normal first, get torpored by the 1st point of aggravated then burned by the 2nd? or does he take the aggravated first, going to torpor, heal the damage from the 2nd aggravated and then ignore the normal damage (already in torpor)?

Using the Flak Jacket (or any other equipment) is always optional, so yes, he can choose which point of damage to prevent.

And to answer the other point brought up here, normal damage is applied first, then aggravated damage is applied. So Meril can choose to turn the first to normal and prevent the second, turn the second to normal and prevent the first, or turn the first to normal and prevent it. However, when it's all applied, the normal (if any is dealt first in sequence. | If you've got a hot lead on a new | *--Joe--* | PC game, call the announce line at | js...@vt.edu | ** csi...@discus.ise.vt.edu ** | +-------------------------------------+---------------------------------- "Carnivores, oy!" -- Timon, TLK
