I am new to jyhad and have a question concerning the master phase. a friend of mine typically has 3 short-term investments on the board at a time and as part of his master phase he removes one counter from each to add 3 blood to his pool. My interperetation of the rules is that he could only move from one short term investment as his master phase action, since moving three would require 3 master phase actions. Any help would be appreciated. Also I am used to magic where there is a 4 card (of one type) limit, are there any such standard card limiting conventions for Jyhad? Thanks again, Nathan Carbino ncar...@ptc.com -------------------==== Posted via Deja News ====----------------------- http://www.dejanews.com/ Search, Read, Post to Usenet

Unless you have more than one Master Phase Action (using Anson, Rumors of Gehenna, and/or the Parthenon), you can only move a blood off of *one* of your investments (instead of playing *one* master card). > Also I am used to magic where there is a 4 card (of one type) limit, > are there any such standard card limiting conventions for Jyhad? No. VtES / Jyhad was designed for unlimited card resources. -- L. Scott Johnson (vte...@regency.wizards.com) Official VtES Net.Rep for Wizards of the Coast. (*) - Subject to review by Rules Team

The way to think about this is exactly what you said: during each master phase, you get one (and only one) master phase action. You can use this action to play a master card, or to do an effect (like take 1 blood off of _one_ Short Term). > Also I am used to magic where there is a 4 card (of one type) limit, > are there any such standard card limiting conventions for Jyhad? No. There is no official card limit, though many groups play with CL as a house rule. At some point, groups decide that they need some sort of house rule to stop degenerate decks. There are two main options: * Card Limits, ranging from 3CL to 6CL * Golden Tenets: - No Repeat Actions - No Vote Pushing (i.e., only 1 Political Action card played per Political Action by each player). I personally prefer the latter, and it is a modification of the latter which is the official DCI tournament rule. James -- James E.
