#1. "Synesios has two votes. You may pay a pool when you play a Master: Out-of-Turn card to gain an extra master phase action in your next master phase. Synesios cannot use cards that require Celerity. Scarce." I take it that if you play a Master OOC and pay the pool using Synesios' ability, you still cannot play another OOC, right? Also, if you paid the pool and Synesios leaves play, do you still get that extra master phase action? #2. "Sterile: Sterile vampires cannot take actions to create other vampires (e.g., cannot perform The Embrace action, The Third Tradition action, etc.). These vampires cannot perform the Revelations of the Sire or the Abomination actions, either." Okay, so it's clear that the Sterie vampire cannot take: Abomination Creation Rites Revelations of the Sire The Embrace The Third Tradition: Progeny So how about Create Gargoyle and Call the Great Beast? Could a Sterile Tremere, or a Sterile Baali perform those actions? Also, any other actions that should go on that list? Thanks! Halcyan 2

Right, per 1.6.2.3. >Also, if you paid the pool >and Synesios leaves play, do you still get that extra master phase action? Yep. You paid your pool, the effect happens. Hostile Takeover leaves play as soon as it's played (or, more properly, is never put in play), but the 'credit effect' it sets up (where people can bid up to 5 pool on credit, paying 1 per turn) continues in its absence. >#2. Create Gargoyle is an action which creates a vampire, so Sterile [!]Tre can't take it. Call the Great Beast is a little muddier, since it could be argued that only the action to add the eleventh counter actually 'creates' the vampire, but since the whole thing is set up in CtGB's card text it's cleaner to say a Sterile vampire can't attempt the action to begin with. That gets rid of any potential ickyness with 11-capacity Sterile Infernal Baali attempting the action. gomi -- Blood, guts, guns, cuts Knives, lives, wives, nuns, sluts

Create Gargoyle is obviously out. Call the Great Beast is doable. But the Sterile vampire cannot take the final action that would make a vampire, so it's kinda pointless. (Which keeps the ickyness of the prohibition on 11-cap steriles). -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. If you are an 11-cap sterile Baali, you can't take the initial Call the Great Beast action, right? Because it would create a vampire? Or is that not what you're saying? (It seems to me that if the later final action would "create a vampire" - because we know about the text that says "when this card has more than 10 ritual counters ..." - then the initial action is likewise a "create a vampire" action if it'll put eleven counters on the card all at once.) Josh ick?

Oh good, I understand you! :-) > > ick? > > The term Gomi no Sensei used in the post to which I was responding. Well, I noticed that. I was just confused because I thought by "icky" he meant "that a sterile 11-cap might be able to take the Call the Great Beast action", whereas in fact perhaps he meant "that a sterile 11-cap is prohibited from taking that action where a sterile 10-cap is not."
