Situation: Sister Evelyn is hunting. The Siamese with a Raven Spy blocks and taps. The Siamese wants Bastet to smack around Evelyn, so Bastet taps for her special. Evelyn plays Change of Target. (This occurred in JOL, so the CoT was out of order due to players not being there at the same time.) Question: Are Siamese, Bastet, and Evelyn all untapped? (I believe so, since the timing window for Bastet to tap for her special never actually occurred, since CoT ended the action prior to the "about to enter combat" phase.) TIA, Pat

[ quoted text not captured ] Oops, sorry for the reply to my own post, but I guess another question is actually raised by this situation: Can Change of Target be played in response to tapping Bastet? Or is it too late to play CoT at that point? If not too late, does Bastet untap? Thx again, Pat

[ quoted text not captured ] To be more general : what is the exact meaning of "about to enter combat" and "before combat". Is it the same time window ? Or does one include the other ? Or does one is after the other ?

[ quoted text not captured ] I believe that about to enter combat exists first then before combat begins comes next. So in your case : Evelyn Hunts Siamese Attempts to Block Evelyn States Block Successful Evelyn Plays Change Of Target (She Was Blocked) Bastet's Window hasn't occurred now new option Evelyn Hunts Siamese Attempts to Block Evelyn States Block Successful Evelyn Forgets to Play CoT (thus Siamese has blocked and combat about to begin) Bastet's Window has occurred and taps Since the block has occurred and has been cancelled there is no block for CoT to be played since the Bastet's ability is a combat queuing not a new block.

Then use 1.6.1.6 and rewinding as appropriate. At the block-is-successful point, the acting minion plays CoT. The action ends. Bastet cannot be used. > > Question: Are Siamese, Bastet, and Evelyn all untapped? Bastet is completely unaffected -- she's not involved at all. Siamese and Evelyn are untapped by CoT's text. > Oops, sorry for the reply to my own post, but I guess another question is > actually raised by this situation: > > Can Change of Target be played in response to tapping Bastet?
